I think esaver is too much hassle. Need to keep transferring and there is a fall below fee. I don't mind keeping it in BOC if it's really 1%

Still using boc cause I got good synergy between account and card.

Boc card giving me 7% for dining!

But put in e$aver can last for 2mths only work assuming you put in there during the promotion starts. After 2 mths, need to shift out again. And shift back into another e$avers assume u got another account.
eSavers always do this kind bonus inerest on incremental amount. Like that is basically encouraging people to empty their account once promotion is over and only put money when the promotion comes.

And you need to deposit or withdraw on the first day of the promotion period to maximise ADB calculation the interest is based on ADB differences.

Hello, would need some advice. Was originally thinking of opening a CIMB fastsaver account for the 1% interest after BOC reaches 60k, however since there is this change in dec where the amount above 60k also has 1% interest, it seems like there is no need to open the fastsaver account now. Or is there any other savings account that has better interest, but salary credit and cc spend is not needed? Read that there is eSaver, but it seems like it is based on the incremental amount, so I would need to withdraw and deposit monthly?
Also, if the BOC is a joint account, under the DI scheme, any amount to 100k is safe right?
Thanks!

For eSaver can transfer to another eSaver account (open one if you dun have a 2nd eSaver account) at the start of the new promotional period (typically 2 months). The funds transferred to the 2nd eSaver is considered fresh funds compared to the reference month (month before the promotional period).

If BOC is joint account and no other BOC banking account for both the joint acount holders, then 100k is insured.

But if totally no promotion ongoing, isn't it better to transfer to other bank like your BOC rather than leaving it in one of the eSavers acct?

Believe you need to log into your iBanking to link your debit card as well, also check that your mobile number SMS OTP is activated.

Answering you last qn: for joint account, 10k is insured.
You can enjoy the 1%, but need at least one of the card spend/salary/bill...

Hi, I'm coming back to update what I learned from their CSO. If you can credit your salary and your wife's. They will look at the combined salary amount. So yup you are right, can fulfill 6K salary in that way.

Thanks for the reply! Actually I meant, is it possible for my wife and I to credit both our salaries into the joint account (total > $6k) to fulfill the salary criteria for 1.2%? Just want to confirm before I tell my HR to credit my salary to the joint account :)

But max is still only 60k for the interest. It's better to open one acct each even if salary can't hit 6k individually?
