Hello everyone

-I am going to start preparing my own food to work.
-I will have two meals at work , Lunch and Light Dinner before work out.
-Food is consume 4 Hours and 8 Hours hence food will definitely be cold
-No microwave or Fridge available at work

Option 1 )
Purchase a Mini Fridge Dual Function type that can keep food warm.
Hence once I reach work I will store it inside and keep heating it till time to eat.

Option 2) Purchase a Thermal type of bag and Electrical Lunchbox
Hence keeping the 2 lunch box in Thermal Bag ( Might start losing heat 2-4hours) and when time to eat put food into Electrical Lunchbox and heat it up. Not too sure if there might be bacteria though for the second meal if it is left in the Thermal bag for 8hours though.

Option 3) Portable Oven

These are the ideas I can think of currently. Anyone have simpler suggestion or opinion which route might be better?

On a side note, in Korea 7-11 during winter, there are those Can Drinks Warmer usually Coffee. Its a transparent Box that can store around 6 cans of Coffee. Anyone know where to purchase that warmer or know the right term for it? That seems to be a good size to store 2 meals.

Thanks you

1. Wow your office sucks :p
2. If your office at least has a pantry with some counter top space and a power outlet, see if you can buy a cheap microwave (or get a free used one that someone is giving away) and put it there. Putting a fridge may be out of the question due to space limitations (unless it's one of those really small hotel room types), so get ice packs and a good cooler bag to keep food cold.

Yea thats true. Very small company hence not much staff benefits
haha

Getting a microwave is no issue. Just I am thinking if the food will spoil in cooler bag/Thermal bag after like 8 hours?

Option 4) Ice Bag + Cooler Bag Combo + Microwave

thanks for the insights so far!

In food safety terms, the "danger zone", where dangerous organisms multiply quickly, is between 4-60C, so you'll have to find a way to keep your food below 4C (can be challenging for 8 hours unless you have a really good icebox, or if you freeze your food beforehand) until you heat it up, and heat it up to beyond 60C (no problem for microwave).

A thermal bag or electric lunchbox would be great. Also, a small microwave can be useful to reheat food.

Lol yeah why so cui.
A bit hard to keep food heated all the way till early dinner though.

No microwave or stove, but got boiler right? Just keep your food cold in a cooler bag or something, then reheat by soaking the tupperware in hot water. bad to keep food hot for too long.

Im thinking option 2 is a good idea. Would you be able to elaborate how you intend to prepare the meal? Would you prepare the meals and store them in the fridge and 'heat them up' in the electric lunchbox?

Hello!

Quick Update I decided on option 3 at the end. As I saw the video which the portable Oven can be use to cook in 2 hours and keep warm for 6hours after that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZANyeaDjSWg

Hence currently my plan is on weekend I will mass buy the food, marinate them, Freeze them.

Plan is to just bring the frozen food to office and start cooking once I reach office. This method I think will be able to keep the food at constant heat and seems easier as I dont have to do bulk cooking and separate them.

I will update with pictures after it arrives if anyone is interested in it.

Thanks for all the suggestion!

Yeah, only reheat your food when you want to eat it or else it should be kept in the refrigerator.
Just ask your boss whether you can donate a small refrigerator and a microwave oven.

Yea I checked and he dont want the refrigerator. Actually the Company does have one Mini currently but it is use to sell drinks to us. So I think he thinks if I buy the refrigerator then no one is going to buy the drinks anymore as they will just bring their own and store it in mine

haha yea it sounds good. I hope it works like how the video shows. Was reading review that it wont have that much food smell either. Will try it out.

Anyway do anyone knows where to buy already marinated chicken? I only saw it from the butchery website but its quite expensive compared to QB or NTUC. Otherwise I will marinate my own which hopefully taste good
