Is Ryzen 1600 the new bang for buck like the i5-2400 back in the day, see a lot of guys hooting?

Thinking of replacing my i5-2400 and HD7950 for something more power efficient to reduce the noise and heat in my room?

Almost there!!!!! Sadly i damaged 1 of my previous 240mm gts radiator paint job. It was so bad that it is beyond recovering. Hence have no choice but to order another 240mm radiator.

guys, any recommendation of those who already purchased or own a big monitor like those in 32-34" range? would like to replace my aged Samsung T260hd monitor.

I saw viewsonic 3209-2k at 439 at qoo10, is that a good buy?
edit: price went up to 499 now.

EVGA 1080ti

Finally got my hands on the EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3 graphics card. This thing is a beast! Literally! I was a little bit concerned at first on whether it would fit into my NXZT Manta. But it did eventually.

This thing is quite hard to get actually. Amazon is perpetually out of stock. Had to source it from Newegg (SG) instead. I am now S$1187 (shipping+taxes included) poorer thanks to EVGA. Upon ordering, it arrived in 4 days via Fedex, so the S$33 shipping was ok.

^ nice card! :)
jus asking, was 1070 at 2560x1440 60hz not enuf, tat need this upgrade?
i imagine with 1080ti being higher powered card, the effect of air gap between gpu & psu shroud on gpu temps is more pronounced...

You're right about the air gap between the psu shroud and the gpu. That's why I had to get the EVGA ones, coz the 1080ti by EVGA is a 2-slot card. If I were to get a 2.5 slot variants from other brands, the graphics card would be too close to the shroud.

I have been observing the temperatures of my graphics card and I did not observe any massive temperature increases compared to the 1070. The shroud does have air vents so it doesn't choke off the graphics card.

The performance of a 1070 is more than enough to power games at very high or even ultra settings at 1440p resolution and 60hz. I upgraded because I got a friend who has been eyeing my 1070 and he was willing to offer a good price. So I thought, why not upgrade?
