that's a tough call. both TAA and Gomez are developing well and doing their best whenever opportunities knock on their doors.

Carnage is right as well... don't make sense to loan out TAA or Gomez when our CBs are not very good and consistent

Gomez was actually a **. But he was cruelly exposed by Lanzini so Klopp dun trust him

Karius' coming out off his line is stupid. No 2-way about it. He's nowhere near the ball and was saved by the offside flag/Gomez.

On another note, Gomez at RB is looking really good. If Clyne is not injured and TAA don't screw up, could we see him send out on loan or rot in U23?

no. clyne should be on the bench as cover.

Think people failed to read; If Clyne is not injured and TAA don't screw up, could we see him send out on loan or rot in U23?

Can't see how TAA or Gomez would push Clyne aside though. Both of them have a shaky start and only regular playing time helped Gomez to develop.

mind your words. young man. you wanna be kbw, go elsewhere.

at least he has the bravery to come off the line, well... for this case way off his line. but it was probably in case gomez loses the Spartak man and it becomes a 1-v-1 situation.

If we look carefully at the replay, Gomez was half-step ahead of the spartak player (On gomez right side) but the ball hit Gomez's right leg, with the spartak player just on Gomez right side

in normal counter-attack situation, if the spartak player is able to catch the rebound, he will definitely move the ball to the right side of the field, which at the point of time was completely empty, make full sprint ahead, create a 1-v-1 situation and score.

or... let's apply the 60/60 hindsight:
let's say Karius stay put, gomez miss-timed the flight of the ball and failed to intercept the ball, spartak player raced ahead, it becomes a 1-v-1 situation and Spartak scored. Spartak sensed a lifeline and start a fightback.

Or worst case, it becomes a 1-v-1 situation, karius comes off the line, foul the player within the box, karius sent off, Liverpool down to 10-men, PK awarded, Spartak scored. Spartak sensed a lifeline and start a fightback.

Which one would you prefer?

yes, mistakes were made in the process but always remember that Klopp want our players to be brave, take chances, make mistakes. And then improve. Our front four is so deadly now because they dare to take chances, any chances, to score. they are not afraid to make mistakes.

Plus karius is still a young GK. and so many of us here are so unhappy with mig.
if Karius don't take the chances to do what a GK is supposed to do and make mistakes, how then could he improve himself to become a better gk? how then can he dethrone Mig? how then can he become the world-class GK we supporters have been DYING to have?

If we wanna talk about silly tackles... lets talk about Emre Can's crazy two-legged sliding tackle around the 6th min.
this is not the first time Emre Can has made such dangerous tackles. He was absolutely lucky to just walk away with a yellow. other days, it could have been a straight red. cuz as he went in for that 50/50 tackle, his right leg was at a higher position.

I agree with the rest. this is not bravery. this is stupidity. the fact that it did not result in a goal does not mask the fact that this is stupidity.

when there is a covering defending, you do not venture so far out of your area. this is goalkeeping 101. on hindsight, many things can happen. karius could have taken out gomez and the spartak player will be through on goal, worst injuring gomez in the process.

it is a mistake with no major consequences. klarius is still young especially for a GK and hopefully he learn from it.

I'm afraid the only way Karius can “look like” Reina is if he shaved his pubes then his man sac will look like Reina’s bald pate.
He was responsible for not saving the free kick goal that Spartak scored at home to get the 1-1 draw in September this should’ve been a bread n butter save btw
He was also responsible for premature ejaculation of the ball when he should be holding on to the ball longer to allow the defence a breather when we were 3 nil up against Sevilla early in the 2nd half but nooooo he pe’d and the ball was quickly turned around into another attack with all the Seville players already massed around the goal.
do you know why other gk can’t replicate what reina does
Why am I so mad - because last 16 could’ve been done and dusted but noooo we have to huff and puff , getting players tired and injured for the weekend games, then people come in praising him to high heaven, heavens he could’ve been red carded this morning too...that offside was just one stray foot

This is In-trend thing for GK to do now. Look at Shaktar's 1st goal vs Citeh ytd. Ederson also rush out just as he did vs Mane. But this time he not so lucky and the striker tap into empty goal.

Nowadays GK wan to show they are able to "read" the game by making this kinda Sweeper-like interception when a through pass is made to striker. It's a gamble sometimes.

Haiz...it's different. Shaktar's goal was a lob over the defence. The nearest man city player is 1-2 yard away. Ederson made the gamble to come out which I can understand. Whereas for our case, gomez is always with the spartak player, there is no need for klarius to come out.

Btw it was shaktar's 2nd goal and not 1st.

I thought they offered 160m last window how come now goes down? :s13:
Always the same, after a good performance, shiat like this always pop-up especially since he still with that shiat agent.

Just waiting for his family members to come out again and talk crap about how Klopp gave him an armband that is too big for his arm, that's why it keeps sliding off of his arm and thus the reason he can't score 6 goals that night. :vijayadmin:
