Hi, just want to add that it has been a real pleasure hiring daydreaming's dad for our family's personal driver/guide for a full day tour. Price was reasonable and reply through whatsapp was quick. Transport was a grey toyota SUV which was spacious enough for 6 of us. Mr Piaw, our driver was very chatty and helpful throughout the journey, never a quiet moment!

yes just came back from Batam, didn't manage to get a successful booking with Grab at all

every time booking was accepted, driver will msg say red zone cannot pick up, and ask you to cancel the booking, it's safer not to use grab or uber when you're there, they are really cheap but pity can't get the job done!

safer and more reliable to go with bluebird taxi, at least they don't face as much constrain

Took grab all the way for 3d2n. Must know where to wait then easy liao. :s13:

Where to go for a full day tour?

So we started the morning with go kart at golden city, followed by flying fox and some other mini activities like archery nearby. Our driver then brought us to this small shop where they sell kuey lapis, and another huge store selling local dry food stuff like keropok etc. For lunch we had bbq seafood which was awesome. After lunch, went to Barelang bridge for some sightseeing and picture taking. It was evening after that so we decided to go for dinner at a kelong style seafood restaurant. Food was rather meh. On the way back to our hotel, we hit a late night food street selling satay, oyster egg, carrot cake and alot of other food we are familiar with. The stuff is good here, recommend a visit.

All in all, nothing grand, its Batam after all. Highlight of the trip was the lunch and supper, they are both at the same location. Its Acia Ikan Bakar, an open air food court.

Hi Alicia,

do you mind sharing the name of the hotel you booked for your trip? I am looking for places that has activities like ATV/go kart/jet ski/flying fox. Is Harris Resort Waterfront a good choice? My friend always go to BCC hotel cuz of the spacious rooms. So i am undecided as to which hotel to go to.

Harris at waterfront is like a very budget or self service hotel to me..

Nothing much there also

Just infront of harris got cable ski which had been there like 18-20 years bah..

Walk abit will have go kart.

Waterfront city nothing much to do..

Take about 30mins to reach town that is about 20km away.

Nearest ferry waterfront and sekupang terminal.

:)

Anyone has stayed at Da Vienna Boutique Hotel?

Wife and her gf decided to go there on 15th for just one night, coming back evening on 16th.

If you have recommended places to eat/spa nearby - please share
