Dear Guys,

Please help to confirm.

I am going Taipei on the 28th and travelling directly to Hualien.

It seems that most high speed trains need to be board at Shulin station?

Is it a mistake on my part?

Anyone knows what is the cab fare from taoyuan airport to Shulin station?

Thanks.

LOL HSR is only available between Nangang and Kaohsiung. Since when does it reach hualien.

This should be what you are looking for:

Hi! You can board the train at taipei main station.
Let me know by PM if you need assistance to grab the tickets on your behalf.
Happy planning.

Puyuma and Taroko Express are pretty "high speed" (compared to the diesel powered Tze Chiang). HAHAHA...!

Let just say the train to Hualien, sounds better?:D

yes, it the same site i go to but...
Tze-Chiang Limited Express(Puyuma) 218
Shulin→Hualien 10:21 12:36 2h 15m

The above is what i found.... i just doesn't seems to be able to find any trains to board from taipei main station.

Shulin is the starting train station.

Chinese version, if you click on the train number, you can see roughly what are the stations it will pass through. Hope this clear your doubt on樹林.

I booked my train tickets from Taipei Station to Hualien from the website listed above. There are tutorials on how to do so on youtube.
My research shows that it is better to book tickets in advance. The website only allows booking iirc 2 weeks before departure.

To book online for the TRA from taipei to hualien, does the site allow us to choose seats?

I see only able to choose windows side or walkway side, so not sure for 2 pax how to select.

refer to this website: https://www.meetmyguide.com/blog/how-to-book-train-ticket-in-taiwan/

Between Taipei City and Hualien, you'll need to board a train operated by TRA.

i.e. there will be transfer involved.
Taoyuan Airport -> Taipei Main Station (bus or MRT)
Taipei Main Station -> Hualien
English website allows you to search for appropriate train, then look for for helpful forumer to help you book tix :)

1) FROM - Area = Taipei; Station = Taipei

2) TO - Area = Hualien; Station = <choose accordingly>

Good luck!
