current cGPA is 3.7
lets say my year 3 gpa is 3.7~3.75
I was from nhhs, my o level ELR2B2 is 23(21 if minus cca), eng b4, e math b4
took A math before but dropped
got dist for financial acc and microecons modules, got module prize for financial accounting

i want to get into SMU business managment/SMU economics/NTU economics

what is my chance?
I know it is a bit early to talk about uni for me, but just asking as i can aim and work harder haha, pls advice thank you guys

You need to maintain your GPA at 3.6 & above for all 3 years which will be increasingly difficult. 3.8 & above is your safe haven.

Work harder definitely. Try to get to 3.9. The reason being RP has a reputation of having lower standards than other poly's Currently not too bad.

What's wrong with NUS economics though?

Thread starter

when u received your O levels results that time , u got the chance go JC?

if yes why go Poly? now than ask? what GPA ......zzzz

You should Choose JC route in the first place.

IF u cannot go JC and this is why no choice u go Poly well , is like this

No doubt got Poly grad managed to go NUS/NTU but I have to tell u

NUS/NTU reserve majority of the slot for JC grad

this is the Standard all along.

People tend to " get mislead simply because of Polys marketing tell u oh come poly also can go local Uni

well Is true, but they never tell u how hard is it. Remember total there ARE 5 POLY

next you are completing not just among your course mates BUT IS Entire department.

If you first year in poly get crap or average results

2nd year buck up , chances also hard to say

in order for a Poly grad got the chance to sneak into NUS/NTU is to study hard , read heard in year one all the way to year 3.

nothing wrong with Poly providing statement "Poly Grads Can go Uni"
if Poly grads cannot comprehend statement is poly grad fault.
JC grades has a higher chance does not mean all JC grads get to go local Ivies.
Many do not again not all.
Sure some Uni major are dumping ground for JC grads with poor grades but is it safe to assume these JC grads have no chance in getting high GPA in Poly to go Uni? I don't know.

@ TS, for whatever the publish COP look at the higher number and aim for it. Good luck
