There was a significant price drop when Intel's Coffee Lake was released. Then they raised the price a week later. This price drop may be due to (1) Black Friday sale, and (2) clearing of inventory for the release of Ryzen refresh in Feb 2018. Intel is struggling to supply enough Coffee Lake chips, so a price cut may do the trick to sway people to buy the Ryzen chips which from my opinion is still a very good chip despite not performing that well in games.

Amazon prices has dropped but I don't know if it'll be reflected on our local stores

With Ken on this, altho my thinking is cuz of the seasons like black friday or Thanksgiving. It might just continue up to Christmas, at least for Amazon.

Wasn't there a official price drop due to new cpus announced at CES?

I wonder when will the change be reflected here

Maybe local stores drop Intel CPU price instead to make them more sellable :p
Or increase AMD CPU price.

Bought Ryzen + Mobo combo from Amazon Prime for $200 less than SLS combo price...

I'll take $200 over a free mouse pad.

Thanks for the info. Just checked my prime as well. Its 233 SGD difference for the thread-ripper. I am considering building a editing workstation so might just bite the bullet.
