After reading the various postings, I have decided to put this thread as a Sticky, so that people are aware of the need to be wary of such scams.

Guys, some good news. I had checked out and there are directives by IDA that whatever charges dispute that we have, our MTO (Mobile Telecommunication Operators) is obliged to help their subscribers to resolve it.

In that light, it means that should WE the consumers, are charged for something that we did not use and want to dispute the bills, your telco MUST help you call the company and not ourselves!!

:) Anyway I was told again and again to contact the 3rd party company to dispute the charges, with this directive I told my telco, and they now said they will call the company and update me shortly.

IDA should really step in and crack these companies down. Its like Timeshare companies. Many people are being cheated but the government just is unable to close em down due to the loopholes with certain laws.

Sigh...

starhub stop putting trap around us

hi all,
It is the time for us to do something with starhub,
Today I received the bill with 50SGD for data usage by gprs.
I only use wireless, but starhub they put the trap around us, when the phone cannot connect to wireless it connect to gprs, and starhub let it conect without any settings. I always thought that we need to set up the phone to connect gprs. Another case, starhub start new service download mp3, let my friend download free, then after that they never de activate the service, and my friend make mistake, another 100 bucks for his mistake. The way they do bussiness is putting the trap around us, and wait for us make mistake, or accident then they punish us. Should we do something, anybody know where in Singapore can protect customers?
Thanks.

Don't think you can do anything on this. Cuz you used it afterall. You can simply call your MTO to terminal your data plan (pay as you use). With that you will not experience this.

Hope this helps.
