Contemplating to get either Asus 8400GS or Asus EN 210 for my next pc.

Reason, Intel or ATI's have poor driver support in Linux. nVidia with either 8400GS or Asus EN 210 can enable hardware acceleration for Full HD playback even with a low end processor like Zacate E-350 in linux.

Assuming 8400GS And EN 210 is similarly priced, should I get the EN 210 be better?

Or should I get GT 220 for higher price? I supposed for Full HD playback, either EN 210 or GT 220 should be same.

All I want is to use it to playback Full HD video. No gaming.

The data from Toms, Anand, Guru, HardOcp all points to many assumptions/prejudices for CF/SLI debunked actually with current crop of cards :D

Best Graphics Cards For The Money: May 2011

and ya HD 6850CF best option for pricepoint hehe

GTX 580 merely warrants an honorary mention at a much higher $490 price point so while single GPU solution in earlier gen sounds logical/reasonable, current crop scaling/price-performance makes this far from apparent hehe

In that case 2 HD 6970 CFX makes for killer performance at a good price point:D

Hi Expert here,
I am looking for a new graphic card to replace my old ATI 3870. I read the 5850 is the best bang for the buck, however, if it's out of stock, will 6850 a better buy compared to 5830?

I would pay careful attention at SRP of HD 6850 but the $244 XFX looks good ^^ For a small top up at $255 there is the MSI Cyclone edition @ PC Themes

Thank you for the advice.
I fnally went for the 5830 to save cost plus I do not really need the power of 6850.:)

Congrats on buying yourself a crippled 5870,not only does it consumes more power than 5850,performance is also lower than 5850:D

No choice, cannot locate any 5850 from SLS, even at Best price, no more stocks and shops will not bring in anymore.
hence, make final decision to spend less on my pocket to get 5830 extreme.

I believe you do recommend guys like us to get it from Tradepac. I got it from Tradepac and I paid $155:)

When I installed the card, I realised new Sapphire card required 2 PCI-E power connector, luckily, my PSU is able to support it.:)

Does 5830 really used more power than 6850 (in terms of electricity)?

Oh well gxgx on buy - hope u got the $155 HD 5830 @ PC Themes :D

Ofcourse bah HD 6k series made advancements in efficiency so HD 6850 is considerably more efficient that HD 5830 but for $155 :D

Hmm.. Care to explain how a gtx 460 is better?

Thats why buying decision no SRP no talk :s13:

Same price no horse run i.e hit that 768M GTX 460 :D

However $155 vs $199
2% more performance
4% more efficient
22% more ex so that is why the next jump to a $205 HD 5850 if in stocks is viewed as an awesome buy hehe

That's right. For nearly $100 difference, I went for 5830 as I do not play latest game.
I am happy with my 5830 but watching on any increase in the electricity bill....hahahaha...

Well $155 for that kind of performance is still good buy but if u do encounter more resource hungry game/s in future have to tone down settings lor :s13:
