Just spoke to the sales person during the PC Show, claims that the asiabox supports Wireless N and having promotion price of $299. Don't know if he is smoking me?

Hi, are you using fibre for your streaming ? Heard a lot of media players have problem with fibre network.

Problems found!

1) Youtube buffering problem.

2) Asia VOD movie - unable to stream newest movies. BOX will restart on its own w/o warning.

3) Front USB port detection problem - Unable to detect USB Wifi Dongle (comes with the box). Must wiggle it to get it detected but will lose the connection again.

Tried using google DNS servers for DNS settings. Still the same for streaming which is suggested in their website.

They will show u @ PC show the movies that can be watched. Choose the newest movies see can stream or not!

Somehow, being a marketing person myself, I know 90% of those $#%^#@&@# from the sales person will be BS. Only thing is... can we live with all those issues/problems of the products (which of course as a salesperson, they will not tell you). The more I about this (basing of my experience following the products brought in by Amconics.... from their Zen10 to their Zen12... problems abound.... it's all due to the products' support from their origin countries... they just can shutdown anytime Anyway, will go and hear them out again this evening

so those buying 1st question to pop is "wat protocol?RTSP??" if not can walk away even it is selling for $10

y yr frenz so unlucky. i bot it at sls on wed and can stream the latest movie like hall pass and so far box did not restart on its own. front usb port is workable. youtube no buffering problem. my relatives from nz so amazed with it till they wanna get one on mon lol... did yr frenz upgrade the fw cos before i upgrade the fw got some problems like take so long to stream movies but after upgrade fw it works well

I bought the player last week after demanding them for lots of testing and demo with other cheaper players they have, and these are my personal reviews.

Regarding the streaming problem(lag) and auto restart problem after streaming the latest TVB/ movies i watch, is due to the old firmware in the default player when i just bought. Just update to the latest firmware, the problems will be solved.

Im using 15mbps at my home and have tried out connection on wireless, wired direct to 2wire router, and wired with powerline plug(aztech).

1. The best performance of course is using direct wired connection to the modem router.
2. wired with powerline plug
3. wireless.
Im saying about the buffering time took to load the movie/drama. There isnt any lag or pause in between the show. Only sometime it will take slight longer time to load at the start of the show. (max 30secs, min 5secs.)

I just brought this player to my friend's house this noon who is using starhub fibre network and tried out.(using direct connection wired to the router) Things work superbly faster than my home's network 5times!
Loading of interface, movies, dramas etc, all r faster alot! (Fastest at 3secs to display things out. Slowest is about 8-10secs)

Updates of latest show(drama esp) is just 1 day differences from the actual broadcasting day.

I would think, for people who knows how to use "some" online streaming software, pls go ahead and use it. This box is so call an idiot proof software for people who do not know how to use computer and surf for what you wanna watch. This is very simple and easy to navigate without needing you to turn on the comp and can navigate around like watching your tv. that's y i bought it for my dad who doesn't understand comp and can direct connect to the tv.
However, everything will depend on your connection. Recommend to use wired direct to ur modem router.

hmm....did you buy yours from the amconics shop? you went in the afternoon? wonder if i bumped into you when you were testing the asiabox.
