i was just wondering, in general how worth it are those PC bundle's advertised in their price lists?
Also, if i ask shop in SLS to custom build for me how should i check that everything is put properly and that they give me all the wires etc back.
Also how do these 2 cases compare, Lancool k62wb $169 or Fractal Design Core 3000 $99
and what is the diff between all the version of the graphics card like all the different brands. Like MSI asus leadtek etc...

So is using a program or is a switch/button to off the external GPU??

@FelfireZ, Good To Go?

CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-2500k + Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
HSF: Xigmatec Gaia
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM DDR3-1333mhz 4GB x2
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB
ODD: Sony 24x DVDRW
PSU: FSP Aurum 700W
CASE: NZXT Lexa S
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Will be using the onboard till early-november then get HD6950 Dirt3 1GB CrossFireX.

Do note that the board has only HDMI out. And take note that you get the XP version and not the Z68X.

Noted, Prepared $20 for the HDMI cable.

May I know what's the different between XP version and Z68X? I chose the Z68XP cause is cheaper.
CPU + Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 ~ $510/Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P ~ $563.

Anyone know Fortran website?

BF3 and the other games are on a totally different levels. I guess you will want to play BF3 at the highest setting first since that's what everybody is waiting for. Your tv resolution is at 1920 x 1200? I guess a reasonable to budget with mid-top tier items will set you back by about $1.5-$2k.

1.2k-1.3k is enough. You might wanna look around the forum for gaming rig threads and have an idea what you're getting.

or Intel Pentium E6500 & ASUS P5KPL-AM ~ $186
Kingston DDR3-1333MHz 4GB ~ $28
PowerColor HD5750 1GB ~ $135 or Sapphire HD 5670 512MB ~ $120

Hi OP, can I ask why you recommend E6500? Isn't it better to get a Sandy Bridge Pentium like G620/G840, which benches significantly better, is current-generation, and costs less?

Good build and good to go. If the motherboard is out of stock you can go for Asrock H61M/U3S3. Go to PCThemes if you wanna have it installed there, or Bell system and best price if you don't mind paying a bit more if PCThemes is crowded.

-- NOOBY ALERT --

Hi there, intend to change the mobo of my current System.
It's a compaq SR5780AP actually.
Previously i used the stock Foxconn running Core 2 Quad, then mobo and cpu fried, changed to msi p23 + pentium dual core. LGA 775 sockets.

Had a Nvidia Geforce 9300GE card inside my comp, okay if i retain it?

Choosing a core i5 2500k + asus mobo, not sure whether to buy a newer casing or to use back the aged Compaq casing. Gonna use back the same old peripherals I used with my Compaq (optical drive, HDD, graphics card and DDR3 ram) to save some $$$. As for Windows, had MSDNAA license, so can get 7 Pro academic edition at no cost.

Playing games like TF2, BS, Dragon Nest, SA, L4D2 and TS3.
Reco me a good mobo, state price so i could compare.

Advice welcomed thanks! :D
