what i meant is far from firmware issue.

is hardware issue.

unable to power up, wireless not working and etc.

When I saw the insides of the router I already know got problem already.
There is no way you see routers mounting such a big heatsink.
The only reason you need such a big heatsink is that it is heavily overclocked. IMO a passive heatsink won't cut it especially if there is no air circulation.

Why ASUS decided to change from their initial A1 design to B1 is anyone's guess

A1

B1

One can only speculate @ A1 design, the small fan fails easily/becomes noisy over time as compared to a big passive heatsink B1 design is enough to alleviate heat dissipation generated thus resulting optimal temperature operation

As for how much lesser overclock that will result lesser hardware failure, only ASUS will know :p i can only feedback accordingly

At least i can safely say this, it's back by 3 three years warranty by the local distributor and most of the returns are 1-1 exchange

Well.... almost everything these days are made in China, even Apple devices ~ Z :s13:

Most of the companies outsourced to China these days, tons of workers and cheap wages

i see alot of people having issues with their ASUS router hardware fry.

This new 1 got better QA or not?

Dear Gribber,

So far i didn't receive any feedback from End-User that ASUS router hardware is fry or burn.

Kindly let me know if any local user encounter such issue on ASUS official firmware cause the router burn or damage.

Question i should ask is that have yours went kaput because of overheating due to poor air circulation? ;)

ASUS RT-N14U

another 100Mbps ethernet interface?

Yes :s13: this model is not really catered for Singapore market where many regions out there don't have the luxury of having FTTH unlike us

It's just a post showing upcoming networking products from ASUS even it's a basic model :D
