BF is at 12.2% (no accurate i think, i estimated myself to be 14-15% since i'm bulking)... hmm i was wonder if its all the meat and yolks that i ate...

Must try to control your LDL cholestrol, is very high liao. Not only egg yolks or meat causes that, many others food too.

BTW, how old are you? I ask is becos if you are over 40 then you must extra careful.

I don't eat alot of carbs, sometimes eat abit of rice/potato. My meals comprises of eggs, meat and veggies. I ate quite abit of liver cause i'm low on iron... I'm cutting down on organs..

Meat mainly like fish, prawn, chicken leg, ribeye etc. yea i drink red wine/alchohol quite often, probably 1-2x a week. aint smoking. let me change the diet a little and see how the reading will be next year.

Eggs and cholesterol are a ridiculously over-hyped myth. It's saturated fats you want to avoid in order to maintain a healthy blood cholesterol. Yes, there is cholesterol present in significant quantities in eggs. But this doesn't directly translate into blood-level cholesterol.

Some articles on the matter:

In summary, dietary cholesterol =/= blood level cholesterol, not by a damn sight. I personally have been eating 12 whole eggs (yolk and all) a day almost everyday for the past 3 months and I'm in the best shape of my life. Excellent source of affordable quality protein, particularly for vegetarians like myself. That's 80 grams of protein right there, and with two whey scoops a day on top of that it brings me close enough to 130 grams. All with effortless ease too. I get the rest of the 40 grams from vegetables like legumes/lentils/nuts/quinoa, or tofu if I'm lazy (a frequent occurrence). Last resort is milk, but I tend to avoid that as it doesn't sit well with my stomach for some reason.

Admittedly, I haven't. Though if the the conventional wisdom regarding egg yolks had even a modicum of truth to them, I'd be dead right now. But only two days back I hit new squat/bench PRs, finally broke the 9:30 barrier for 2.4, and haven't fallen sick in over half a year.

Yeah, I get by fairly well for someone who eschews meat. Have multi-vitamins which I use to plug in any gaps that might be in the diet, that I take on and off, though always when cutting.

Don't take my word on the egg yolk and cholesterol matter. Do your own research, and then apply that in practice and see how things turn out. Keep the yolks, but cut down on unhealthy fats for a few months and see what the blood cholesterol results are again.

What are your triglycerides level? That's probably the most important figure that you didn't report. Otherwise, your total cholesterol and LDL levels don't really matter by themselves, and your HDL levels are ideal. No real reason to worry.

Saturated fats being evil is another myth for another day. And also that cholesterol levels matter for your health (it doesn't in most cases).

Prior to a blood test which said my cholesterol and other values were all within normal range, I was eating 9 eggs almost everyday plus lots of meat and junk food. I blame the fish oil, multi vitamins, and exercise for making me abnormal :p

triglycerides at 44, seems ok since it should be lower than 150

Then you have absolutely nothing to fear, coz your triglyceride/HDL ratio is very low, your triglycerides themselves are very low, which means that the LDL you have is probably the big, fluffy, benign type.

thanks man. I didnt expect myself to be having cholesterol 'problem' since i'm fairly active (gym abt 4x a week). I don't do cardio though. Maybe i'll incorporate them and take another test next year :)

You don't have a cholesterol "problem", so I don't see why you'd want to do cardio just to pass a cholesterol test that doesn't indicate any "problem" in the first place.

cholesterol is a very complex subject, thats why up till now, you have heart specialist, kidney specialist, skin specialist but do not have Cholesterol specialist. Its a bit like our brain, nobody really knows what is going on:s22:
