Happened to see this when visiting KTM website. Shutter trains travelling from Woodlands -- JB Sentral and JB Sentral -- Woodlands starting from July.

Couldn't find any news on this so anyone can confirm this?

it's just a normal KTM train in economy 2 + 2 seating config.

currently i think its 3 trips per day so now increase to 7. that's all.

Oh. Not new train sets. How many carriages/coaches per train?
It's probably more expensive to run the service than having the old rail-buses.

It does not make any economic sense for KTM, running their usual train-sets.

compare to last time woodlands to Jb ---> $11, now $5 is cheaper. But from JB to Singapore increased from RM3 to RM5

The crap bit is that the long-distance, intercity train to/from KL and beyond will no longer serve Woodlands. The outcome is that the shuttles and those trains don't connect properly at JB Sentral.

Shuttle Schedule
JB Sentral- Woodlands-----Woodlands-JB Sentral
0530-0535------------------0630-0636
0700-0705------------------0800-0805
0830-0835------------------0930-0935
1600-1605------------------1700-1705
1730-1735------------------1830-1835
1900-1905------------------2000-2005
2200-2205------------------2300-2305

Intercity Timings
Express Rakyat
South-Bound North-Bound
JB Sentral arr 2135 dep 0850

Sinaran Selatan
South-Bound------------------North-Bound
JB Sentral arr 1435----------dep 1620

Sutera

JB Sentral arr 0650----------dep 2355

Those regulars who take the inter-city between Woodlands and Malaysia get dumped and may be forced to take the public bus. The ironic thing is that the East Coast (Jungle Line) service to Kota Baru is not affected and is now the only long-distance international train coming to Singapore.

Not really, I took during Apr and it was full and I had a hard time snatching for tickets. To be frank, i rather take train then squeezing with people if the timing is right. Time = Money. :D
