I think places like Nubox, iStudios, etc do take in old Mac products.
Nubox takes in old Mac products for trade in only, I think. So no cash, and not really worth it for me because I lose out on the education discount and the free headphones.

Emailed PC DREAMS and they quoted me about $400 for my iMac. A bit low for my liking though. How much can I reasonably be looking to get for it? Any ideas?

Thanks.

In my opinion the trade in at Nubox is not that cost effective for consumer. They buy in at a much much lower price than what you can sell yourself..

I decided to upgrade to the 2017 5k iMac (the top end one).

Any suggestions on what I can do with my 2011 27Ē iMac? Screen is also starting to flicker as well, so I donít think it can fetch too much on the second hand market. Any good places I can unload it for? Donít mind losing a little if it can save my some time and convenience.
I sold my iMac 2011 21" with 480gb ssd for $650 in early June... in tip top condition. So it's always better to sell quickly when no longer in use...

Any tips on selling? Like what platform you use etc?

Carousell lo.

There's actually a huge market for Apple products. I sold my MacBook Air 4 months ago also via Carousell.

Is it worth getting the High tier 4K 21" iMac 2017 over the 5K 27" iMac 2017 mode?
apart from using a different GPU chip?

Totally not worth it. The base 5k iMac is the biggest bang for bucks.

I agree. Just the thought of not being able to manually upgrade ram yourself is a huge turn off.
