Sorry to dig up old thread. But I don't know whether is it hardware fault. I used to be able to surf net and utorrent at high speed at the same time. That was like a year or 2 back. Now with new utorrent and same router and modem. (DGL4300 + SBG1000) I'm not able to surf the net when utorrent is on. The only difference is utorrent version. Settings were left untouched. Time to upgrade my router ? :s12:

Cannot also. I think the firmware problem. 1.9 can but downgrade already cannot. Now i using DIR-655. Now thinking whether to recontract to Ultimate. :s13:

Hey guys, may i know how many wireless clients do you use your dgl-4300 router with? Once, i tried using 4 wireless clients, and my router keeps "crashing"- not sending data to the wireless clients even though my laptop states that it still having "good to excellent" connection.

You need to check. It may be a power adapter issue (not covered by warranty). I thought mine died too but realised it is only power adapter.

Power adaptor costs 15$ and is only covered for 1 year. You can head down to their service centre to purchase one.

dir-855 can utilise 2.4ghz & 5ghz -no gamefuel

why dun they just bring in , and let us decide ? (i would think there are a considerable population of gamers here.. like me )

iirc, in dgl-4500 its called gamefuel, in dir-655 its called stream engine. and if im not wrong, they are the same thing but with different naming conventions.

and they are using ubicom processors

and.. wireless N is needed for gaming if ur house wireless coverage is not very good with conventional wireless G

I want to change my WRT54G to Dlink655 to hopefully solve this problem.

I'm with MOL and using DGL 4300 and ya, I do get that sometimes, especially at peak hour with certain websites. ( Not HWZ )

In the Advanced, Web Filter, it only allows whitelisting (ie sites allowed). I need to block sites. I am on firmware 1.9.

i believe that would be the access control. create a policy then choose advanced port filter.

you could try the latest firmware 1.9 to solve the problem

then i flash back to 1.8 - everything back to normal, strange

Paiseh, dun mean to dig thread... My DGL-4300 cannot switch on liao... Think might be adaptor as a google online reveals that alot of ppl encountered the same issue...

However, if it's not the adaptor, will Dlink change the router for me if I lost my receipt?
