anyone tried these b4? how's the sound? While i understand it's hard for them to match normal powered speakers, still hope to get the better sounding ones, as opposed to those tat pass tweeters off as speakers (creative.....ugh). Any recommendations?

Your audio anology is wrong. Tweeters are for above 1kHz and need to be combine with woofer or mid-range. I suggest that you edit your first post to avoid being flamed.

lol, yes i do understand tat....and if u look at the usb offerings, do they not have tweeters in them and not much else (most of them at least)? So if these speakers dun sound bad (like u say, no woofer/midrange), den wat does?

hence i'm creating tis thread to ask abt usb speakers tat actually sound good....

What will happen when the CPU and GPU load is at max and a loud boom is needed. Say goodbye to your PSU. :)

the salesman told me, 'it's good, can go very loud', guess there's another side to the story...

the salesman told me, 'it's good, can go very loud', guess there's another side to the story...yes..it can go very loud. but whats the use when the sound quality is not good?

why didnt u request for a sound test on the spot? thats the best way of knowing whetehr u like the speaker or not. and decide for yourself whether it is a good or bad speaker.

sigh.... well, guess wat? I do have a set of Megaworks 550 and they are sweet, really sweet. But u do have to pay for the costs in terms of electrical bills.

anyway, was just shopping den, din really think of getting one, so nvr asked the salesman. now tinking of getting one for my bro who complaining of not enuff power sockets and dun wanna add a speaker set tat has yet another power plug.

He using sennheiser headphones most of the time, the speakers are just an extra accessory, but if can find a usb-powered one tat actually sounds good, it's a bonus. so was hoping got any fren here who has favourable experience with such speakers and wanna share.

If you need a portable speakers that connect to your lappy and just play, dun care about quality, just get the best your budget can afford. Fitting your usage is more important.

As for quality.....let's just be frank....it will suck even without testing it. No offense. ;)
