That was a memorable time, with Singapore winning the double of both the M-League and Malaysia Cup. Malek Awab was the midfield engine of the team.

i think abbas saad and alistair edwards played for singapore in 1990 and not 1991. they helped us to the msia cup final where we lost to kedah. 1991 was craig foster, warren spink and win aung. nearly relegated that year, only managed to stay in div 1 thru the relegation playoff against penang. and did maung maung oo ever played for singapore?

Those were the days man .....

Every corner, every fans were stamping their feet. Can feel the whole stadium shake. Quite scary. And shouting "Referee kelong" whenever decisions went against us. hahah

The days where the stadium is fully packed to 60,000 against the stronger teams, the days of the kallang roar, the days where I actually thought TNP is good for value, the days where people talk about the Singapore team as much as they talk about English teams if not more. Yup. those were the days. haha...

I often see Lim Tong Hai at Bedok Stadium when i jog in the evening.

Quite right there.

I remember in one of our Singapore team recent big defeat in the World Cup qualifier, one of the defender was BALL WATCHING when the right midfield of the opposition did a long cross field pass to the left side. He just stood there and ball watch. WTF?!

as if the Malaysia Cup players can do better against such quality opposition.

i agree that Baihakki is rubbish, but you should know better than to compare Malaysian state sides and Central Asian international sides.

no matter how much we hail our past successes in the Malaysia Cup, we cannot allow it to overshadow the fact that we are in a bigger stage because we left the Malaysia Cup.
