Oops , I had posted this at the Food forum wrongy 'cos I went JB, like everyone else, for food. Here's a warning post -

I was a near victim of motorcycle snatch thief at JB petrol station

On Sunday 13/5, 8pm, on the Kota Tinggi-Singapore return route, just before the Store Pasar Raya, I stopped to fill up petrol. At that time, the station only has 1 other car filling up. I parked the car beside it. When I came out of the car, a motorcyclist with a pillon rider rode by, in between the 2 cars. A pump attendant rushed over and told me to be careful because of drive-by motorcyclists snatch thief.

After filling up & handing over the money to the attendant, I am about to drive off when again the same motorcyclist rode near my car and away again. Apparently, I had no money on me for them to rob as I was not carrying a wallet.

A tip to drivers: pay direct to pump attendant instead of walking to the paying booth, give exact amount and do not flash your wallet. Also, these motocyclist-robbers have been known to snatch handbags from within the car, so lock your car & keep your windows up.

This sort of thing has been around for a long time.

If you are not alone have passengers lock the car. Unlock only when about to drive off. Look around before getting into the car.

I always keep some loose change in my pocket to pay for petrol. Do NOT take out your wallet.

No matter where even if waiting for sometine the doors MUST BE LOCKED.

Preventive actions have to taken by travellers. Not only JB is dangerous, many other places are. A dead giveaway is the brands stuff travellers wear. It's like saying "Rob me, rob me!".

I rather just rig my car ... go there and buy some semtex (c4) and load my car up with it. Use a remote det charge and when they're out of the kill radius... blow them to bits . Later collect insurance $

nowadays they use 4 riders to surround one vehicle, damn &*^%

no road to run, KL is much more safer

I say we boycott the lawless place, let them feel the pinch without our tourism money.
