As long as Arsene Wenger is at the club, there just seems to be no chance that Thierry Henry will be leaving the Emirates after deciding against a move to Barcelona last year. But if the odds are being cut because of bets coming from the Liverpool area, that either means that a whole lot of people have some pretty amazing inside information or a whole lot of people just happen to be idiots.

Blues broke the FA Cup

CHELSEA have broken the most famous trophy in football.

The silver spike on top of the FA Cup’s lid was snapped off during the club’s over-zealous celebrations after their 1-0 victory over Manchester United.

The damage is currently being repaired by the FA’s specialist silversmiths in Birmingham.

But the club have still been charging fans £20 a go to have their photo taken with the historic piece of silverware.

A club spokesperson confirmed last night: “The lid of the FA Cup was broken accidentally during celebrations and is being fixed to prevent further damage.”

Fans were staggered this week when the Cup’s top fell off as they had souvenir pictures taken in the club museum at Stamford Bridge.

The photographer just perched it back on to the lid and carried on.

When SunSport went to investigate the next day, the trophy was still on show along the Carling Cup.

But there was no sign of the lid, which was en route to Birmingham for intricate welding.

# Real Madrid are hoping to sign Chelsea's Arjen Robben for a fee of around £13.6million, with the Dutch winger understood to be keen to leave Stamford Bridge and move to Spain.

# Thierry Henry last night made it clear he is considering quitting Arsenal after refusing to commit his long-term future to the club.

# Seville have joined Chelsea in the race for Tottenham right-back Pascal Chimbonda.

# Joey Barton's move to Newcastle is in doubt after the midfielder demanded a £300,000 'loyalty' payment from former club Manchester City.

# Sheffield United are preparing to spring a massive surprise on the Premier League and West Ham after requesting that Carlos Tevez's owners MSI give evidence on their behalf.

# Craig Bellamy will be offered a double-your-money deal to join West Ham, but could yet return to former club Newcastle.

# Real Zaragoza will offer Manchester United £6million to make Gerard Pique's loan move a permanent one.

# Real Madrid claim they have begun talks to sign Chelsea's unsettled winger Arjen Robben - and the Spanish giants say they want to pair him up with AC Milan star Kaka.

# Portsmouth are facing a second snub from Middlesbrough in 48 hours, with Gareth Southgate insisting Yakubu is not for sale after Mark Viduka rejected Pompey's advances to sign for Newcastle.

# And Southgate is keen to bring Arsenal's Jeremie Aliadiere and West Brom's Diomansy Kamara to the Riverside.

Yes, Chelsea may have fewer trophies than some other clubs. But most important thing is, we have started to win things (trophies) since the arrival of Mourinho. There is 1 club among the big 4 in EPL have not won a single silverware for 2 seasons and another club who won only the charity shield last season, as good as ended up with nothing. The most important is we are winning and winning something every season, AT LEAST. ;)

HENRY FLATTERED BY MILAN LINK

Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has admitted it is 'great to hear' that he has been targeted by European champions AC Milan.

Henry has once again been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, but now the Serie A giants have reportedly made their interest known in the France international should he decide to leave the Emirates Stadium.

The 29-year-old is believed to be concerned following the departure of vice-chairman David Dein last season amid a boardroom fallout surrounding new investment.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also believed to be unsettled following Dein's exit and the Frenchman's contract is poised to enter its final 12 months. Speaking about Milan's interest, Henry told The Sun: "That is great to hear. How can it be anything else?"

"As I have said many times, at the moment I am an Arsenal player. But everyone knows that a lot of stuff has happened at the club recently that wasn't supposed to happen.

"So the only thing I can tell you is right now I am an Arsenal player but I cannot deny it's nice to hear about Milan.

"The bosses have been unsettled and a lot of players at the club have been unsettled.

"I was devastated when Mr Dein left the club. I don't know what happened and I don't want to know but whatever went on, Mr Dein leaving was not a clever move.

"Although no one is bigger than the club, Arsene Wenger and Mr Dein are really close to being Arsenal.

"Unfortunately it is out of my hands. I don't agree with what has happened but sometimes that's the way things are. We just have to move on."

ETO`O AGENT SNUBS REDS RUMOURS

Posted 08/06/07 14:33

Samuel Eto'o's agent has vehemently denied the Barcelona striker held a meeting with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.

The Cameroon star with a move to the Premiership, but the 26-year-old's representative has denied Eto'o is to leave the Catalan giants.

The latest reports claim Eto'o held talks with Benitez on Monday night, but agent Jose Maria Mesalles told Sport:"It is just a huge lie. Eto'o was in Belgium with the Cameroon squad on Monday night.

"We do not understand why these false stories keep appearing. The club knows all too well that he is very happy at Barcelona and wants to stay.

"He has a very good contract and wants to comply with that."

Mesalles dismissed claims Eto'o has held secret meetings before Barca had been informed of any official interest.

"We are not going to listen to any offers. The club will be the one that receives the offers, we never hear about them first," he said.

"It is clear that he wants to stay.

"It is not about a club meeting a clause in his contract. Eto'o wants to play for Barça for many years to come and that is that."

Robben on the brink of new Blues deal

Arjen Robben is set to sign a new deal with Chelsea that will tie him to the club for another five years.

The 23-year-old, linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier this week, will remain a Chelsea player according to his father and agent.

Hans Robben insisted he had never spoken to Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon about his son's future.

Calderon had claimed the two parties were in the `early stages' of talks with Chelsea but Robben senior declared: 'I never met him or anyone from Madrid and did not speak to them.

'We're nearly finished negotiating with Chelsea, Arjen will stay another five years with the club.'

Robben's decision to stay put follows Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Essien.

They both opted to agree to new long term deals while captain John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard are expected to do the same.

Meanwhile, full-back Geremi has admitted he would be tempted by a return to Middlesbrough.

The Cameroon international spent a very successful season on loan at the Riverside in 2002.

He turned down a permanent move to Middlesbrough but has struggled to become an established first-team member at Stamford Bridge.

Now the 28-year-old is considering a move back to Boro and almost invited the club to make him an offer.

Geremi said: 'The option of Middlesbrough is excellent because they are a high-level club and I have already played there. I would go there happily if they made me a good offer.'

Chelsea were today linked again with Florent Malouda, the Lyon winger who is set to quit the French club.

Malouda claims Liverpool and Chelsea have contacted Lyon to enquire about him and says he is now just waiting for more news from the French champions.

Who? - Darren Bent
Where is he? - Charlton Athletic
Who is he linked with? - Liverpool, West Ham, Spurs

Charlton chief executive Peter Varney has revealed that the club will not let Darren Bent leave on the cheap. The Addicks were relegated at the end of last season and the striker has since been linked with a host of clubs - Liverpool, West Ham and Spurs among them. However, Varney has insisted that Charlton will not be rolled over in the transfer market. "Darren Bent will only leave Charlton if the price is right for Charlton," he told The Mirror. "If it is not then he will be going nowhere."

Who? - Jeremie Aliadiere
Where is he? - Arsenal
Who is he linked with? - Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have moved quickly to fill the gap left by the departing Mark Viduka by signing Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere. The Frenchman's move and fee have been agreed 'in principle' and the deal will be finalised once the player returns from holiday in a few weeks. "We tried to sign him in January but were thwarted by Arsenal's injuries," said Boro chief executive Keith Lamb. "He fits perfectly with the sort of player we are trying to bring in. He has pace and energy and he is young with his best years in front of him."

Liverpool's Benitez goes for Man Utd reject Forlan
tribalfooball.com - June 10, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is weighing up a bid for Villarreal striker Diego Forlan.

The Times says Benitez is thought to be revising his list of forward targets. He has apparently concluded that he does not have the funds to compete for players such as Samuel Eto'o and Carlos Tevez.

How a player who struggled to make the grade at Manchester United would be received by Liverpool supporters is open to debate, but Forlan is believed to figure prominently in Benitez's thoughts.

"There has not been any offer from Liverpool and it's very difficult to talk about what might happen when there isn't an offer there, but things can change every day," Daniel Bolotnicoff, Forlan's agent, told The Times last night. "If he received a very good offer then he will think about it, but it will also depend on whether Villarreal are happy."

HALFORD SEALS BLACK CATS MOVE

Sunderland have clinched the signing of Greg Halford from Reading as revealed by skysports.com.

The 22-year-old has arrived at Sunderland in a £3.5million deal and becomes Roy Keane's first signing of the summer.

Sunderland swoop for £3million Halford

Sunderland boss Roy Keane finally launched his summer recruitment drive this afternoon when he paid Reading £3million for full-back Greg Halford.

The 22-year-old defender signed a four-year deal after passing a medical on Wearside this morning as the Black Cats' hard work behind the scenes finally paid off.

Keane was delighted to have landed a man who was in the club's sights before he joined Reading from Colchester in January.

Atletico ready to sell hitman Torres

Atletico Madrid will spark a transfer scramble next week by confirming that star striker Fernando Torres will be in the summer sales.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with moves for Torres in the past and would be forced to offer at least £15million for his services.

Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle also have the funds to mount rival bids - but the lure of Champions League football gives the big four a major advantage.

The 23-year-old has scored 82 goals in 212 league appearance for Atletico, while his record for Spain is 14 in 42 games.

His club's failure to earn a UEFA Cup slot this season means they are expecting to lose their star forward and the Premier League is the most likely destination.

Torres isn't as good as he used to be last season. Standard drop a lot. 15 million pounds at least the price suits desperate Benitez I guess. :s13:

Drogba: Chelsea must match my ambition

Golden Boot winner Didier Drogba has claimed he is 'attracted' to the prospect of playing in a different country and has warned he is not certain to remain at Chelsea in the long term.

After a slow start to his career at Stamford Bridge following a £24million move from Marseille, the Ivorian was arguably the Blues best player last term as he blasted 21 goals in the Premier League.

But, amid talk that club owner Roman Abramovich's wallet could remain resolutely closed this summer after several years of mega-spending, Drogba has expressed concern that the Londoners' ambition may no longer match his own.

He said in The Sun: 'If I think the club lacks ambition, then it is sure I will not stay too long. I'm 29 and I don't have much time to lose.'

Drogba added: 'I'm at the last big turning point of my career.

'It's time for one final big choice - should I stay or should I go? I am tempted to discover another world and to see what footballing life is like outside England.

'It would be a big disappointment if I never manage to play for teams that I dream of playing for. That would be terribly frustrating.

'Spain and Italy attract me a lot and, although I am a long way from saying farewell to Chelsea, you never know what can happen.'

Tevez talks up Inter Milan interest

West Ham United's Argentina striker Carlos Tevez has revealed he is 'interested' in joining Italian champions Internazionale.

The 23-year-old, who is currently preparing for this month's Copa America in Venezuela, moved to Upton Park from Brazilian side Corinthians at the start of last season in what later proved a hugely controversial switch.

But after securing Barclays Premier League survival for Alan Curbishley's side with the solitary strike during a 1-0 win over Manchester United on the final day of the season, speculation has increased that he will leave the Londoners this summer.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with Tevez but, with international team-mates Hernan Crespo, Julio Cruz, Walter Samuel, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti, Nicolas Burdisso, Mariano Gonzalez and Santiago Solari already plying their trade at the San Siro, it seems Serie A may now be his favoured destination.

'I know Inter is interested in me,' said Tevez.

'It would be nice to play in Italy, especially in a team that has so many Argentinians.

'There will be some meetings, some discussions, but I really don't know anything official yet.'

Turkey international Tuncay Sanli has agreed personal terms to join Middlesbrough.

The forward, who once scored a UEFA Champions League hat-trick against Manchester United, will move to The Riverside Stadium on a free transfer.

His contract with Fenerbahce had expired and Tuncay was keen to secure a move to the Premiership.

Birmingham City were also sweet on the attacker, while Boro's North East rivals Newcastle United denied an interest.

But Boro have managed to pip newly-promoted Birmingham to Tuncay's signature after announcing a deal has been agreed.

The deal is subject to Tuncay passing a medical and his arrival at the club will be a boost following Mark Viduka's recent departure.

Chairman Steve Gibson had been promising a couple of 'spectacular' signings and Tuncay could be the first of several new faces in Gareth Southgate's squad.

Inter buy striker Suazo from Cagliari

ROME, June 13 (Reuters) - Italian champions Inter Milan have signed Honduran striker David Suazo from Serie A rivals Cagliari, the president of Cagliari said on Wednesday.

'Inter have made a great buy. At Inter, Suazo will be their first choice. The rest will come after. He's a great player and a great professional,' Massimo Cellino told Italian radio station Radio Radio.

Suazo joined Cagliari from Olimpia of Honduras in 1999. The Sardinian club were relegated to the second division Serie B at the end of his first season, but Suazo scored 19 goals to help them win promotion back to the top flight during the 2003-04 campaign.

Since then, the 27-year-old Honduran international has developed into one of the most dangerous strikers in Italy.

In the 2005-06 season he scored 22 Serie A goals for Cagliari, breaking the club record of 21 league goals in a season that former Italy international Gigi Riva set in 1970.

At the Italian Football Oscars in January this year, he shared the award for best foreign player in Serie A with AC Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka.

Ben Haim set to accept deal with Chelsea

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has admitted defeat in his efforts to sign Israel defender Tal Ben Haim.

The 25-year-old, who is out of contract at Bolton, seems destined to join Chelsea, who made a bid for him during the January transfer window.

Allardyce told the club's official website: 'It's looking like Tal will be going to Chelsea, unfortunately.

'We have had a long, hard go, but I think the lure of the (former) champions has perhaps just pipped me at the post.'

Allardyce identified the former Maccabi Tel Aviv player as one of his top targets as he looks to strengthen a defence which has proved the club's Achilles heel for a decade.

However, despite the offer of regular first-team football at St James' Park, something he may not be guaranteed at Stamford Bridge, Ben Haim looks to have opted for the Londoners.

Newcastle have other options, with Paris St Germain's David Rozehnal, Marseille's Habib Beye and Liverpool's Sami Hyypia among their remaining targets.

But Allardyce's knowledge of the Israeli's ability and character, their existing relationship and the fact he was available on a free transfer made him a hugely attractive proposition.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are hopeful of tying up their move for Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton today.

The 24-year-old agreed to sign for the club last week, but a wrangle over a £300,000 payment from City has delayed confirmation.

It is understood the Eastlands club have not altered their stance, and there was no word from St James' or the Barton camp on the matter today, other than Allardyce's hope that a resolution would be reached sooner rather than later.

Referring to his transfer dealings to date - he has already landed striker Mark Viduka - he said: 'We have made two great signings so far - hopefully Joey Barton will be tied up today - and we are working around the clock to bring in more players.'

Liverpool confirm approach for Benayoun

Liverpool have confirmed they are chasing West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

The Israel international is delaying signing a new five-year contract at Upton Park - having verbally agreed to the deal three weeks ago - now that he is aware of Liverpool's interest.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry said today:'I can confirm we have made an approach for Yossi Benayoun, but the figures quoted are completely wrong. Other than that we don't want to say any more.'

There has been speculation that Liverpool offered as little as £1million for the Isreal captain, with other suggestions that a £3million bid has been lodged.

West Ham are believed to have rejected the bid and plan talks this week to convince Benayoun to stay in east London, where his new contract will be worth £50,000 a week.

Bent rejects Hammers switch

Charlton have confirmed tonight that Darren Bent has turned down a move to West Ham.

The 23-year-old England striker was expected to sign for the Hammers tomorrow after the two clubs agreed a fee for the player.

Charlton were to receive £16million plus Hayden Mullins for the 23-year-old England international, who has top-scored for Charlton for the past two Premiership campaigns.

But after negotiations with the Hammers, the striker has rejected a switch to Upton Park and the chance to be reunited with the man who brought him to The Valley in 2004, current Hammers boss Alan Curbishley.

Charlton chief executive Peter Varney told his club's official website,'We set a valuation for Darren and West Ham were the only club prepared to meet that valuation.

'This morning we gave them permission to speak to Darren, which he did, and he has decided not to join West Ham.

'We therefore look forward to Darren starting with us in the Championship next season, which is a massive boost to our chance of returning to the Premier League.'

However, Tottenham may have other ideas, having expressed an interest in the former Ipswich striker.

A West Ham spokesman confirmed the deal was not moving forward, adding: 'A fee had been agreed between West Ham and Charlton but it was not possible to reach an agreement with the player.

'West Ham have been considering a number of options in terms of a new striker for the club and will now be pursuing alternatives.'

Berlusconi wants Shevchenko back at Milan

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi claims Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko wants to return to the San Siro and is determined to re-sign him.

The Ukraine forward has been repeatedly linked with a return to the Rossoneri club over the last six months following a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge.

Milan are keen to sign a striker with Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and Arsenal's Thierry Henry rumoured to be targets for the European champions.

However, Berlusconi has his heart set on Shevchenko.

'I like Eto'o, he is young, but I am a romantic and I prefer Shevchenko,' said Berlusconi in Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted earlier this month that Shevchenko's return would only happen if Chelsea gave the all-clear to sell the player.

The Blues paid £30million to Milan last summer for the 30-year-old, but Berlusconi believes the deal is still possible.

'The last time I spoke to Galliani, which was a couple of days ago, the probability of Shevchenko returning to Milan was 80%,' he said.

'Had that percentage gone down, I'm sure Galliani would have told me.'

Despite winning the Champions League trophy last month, Milan have struggled without the Ukrainian.

Shevchenko, Milan's second highest scorer, enjoyed seven successful seasons with the club before leaving for Chelsea last summer.

'Sheva has a great desire to return,' said Berlusconi.

'There are no obstacles linked to his salary because he would be winning a similar fee as that of our top players.

'We will have to negotiate his transfer with Chelsea, each club looks at their own interests.

'I really believe Shevchenko would be an ideal player to complete our attacking line.

'I consider Sheva as my son. I have experienced important moments with his family, such as his father's heart operation and the birth of his son, who I'm a godfather to.

'Andriy is still young, he's got so many years of his career ahead of him.'

Yakubu opens door on exit from Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu has admitted he could consider a move away from the Riverside Stadium - but only to a bigger club.

The 24-year-old Nigeria international has been at the centre of speculation he could rejoin former side Portsmouth after being left out of the starting line-up for the final two games of last season.

Despite claims that Pompey have launched a £12million bid to take Yakubu back to Fratton Park - Boro have privately denied any offer has been received - the player himself insisted he is happy on Teesside, although he admitted nothing is set in stone.

From Nigeria's training camp he told KICKOFF magazine: 'I am happy at Boro and I have never said I wanted to leave.

'I have some fantastic team-mates and the fans are great. Boro are one of the big clubs in England and we have the chance to challenge the top four and play in Europe every year.

'But in football, you never know, anything can happen. If a big club comes with a very big amount of money, anything is possible.'

Rumours over Yakubu's future on Teesside have been rife for several weeks with the £7.5million signing failing to find the back of the net since the 2-1 win over Reading on February 24.

That was his 16th goal of the season to add to the 19 he claimed during the previous campaign, when he once again endured a quiet finish.

However, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp's admiration for the player is well known, and it would be no surprise if he firmed up his interest.

Boro lost last season's leading scorer, Mark Viduka, to derby rivals Newcastle last week, and although they reached agreement with Fenerbahce yesterday to sign Tuncay Sanli subject to a medical next week, they remain short in that department.

Manager Gareth Southgate has released Malcolm Christie and Danny Graham and is yet to tie up his move for Arsenal's Jeremie Aliadiere.

Jerzy Dudek is considering swapping the substitutes' bench at Liverpool for a similar role as understudy at Real Madrid after confirming that the Spanish club have expressed an interest in signing him under the Bosman ruling.

The Poland international has been usurped at Anfield by José Reina and has made only eight Premiership appearances since playing a crucial role in the 2005 Champions League final. That has prompted him to reject an offer to remain at Liverpool, citing his desire for first-team football as the motivation behind his departure. However, Real's interest has prompted a rethink.

All this points to a deal involving La Liga.

We are still re-building. Liverpool with one of the best tactical manager in Euro still cannot get close to challenging the title after 3 years in charge. Do you expect us to challenge for the cl with an above average manager?

If you ask me if I want CL or foundation, I would rather go for foundation. How many teams struggle in their domestic league after qualifying for the CL? For your info, we have Hamburg, Chievo and Celta Vigo.

Well, at least we have european football for 2 consecutive seasons now.

Gudjohnsen talks up Man United link

Former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has admitted he would be interested in a move to Manchester United.

The Iceland international has been linked with a move away from current club Barcelona back to England with the Premier League champions.

The 29-year-old has had a difficult first season at the Nou Camp since leaving Stamford Bridge in an £8million deal last summer.

Gudjohnsen, quoted in the Daily Mail, said: 'I joined Barcelona to be part of the club's triumphs but it is not easy for me when you look at the club's forward line and see all the big names there.

'Each minute has been a special test for me but to sit on the bench is not the most desirable experience for a player.

'If I leave then my idea would be to return to British football. A perfect choice for me will be a club that plays in the Champions League.

'Obviously Manchester United fit that category.'

Arsenal have reportedly sealed a £2million deal with Norwegian outfit Haugesund for teenage defender Havard Nordtviedt.

The Norway Post reports boss Arsene Wenger visited Norway last weekend to finalise the deal which will go through on July 2 in time for the Gunners' pre-season tour of Asia.

The centre-back was the subject of an earlier failed Gunners bid of £1.8m which has since been upped to over the £2million mark.

The highly-rated 17-year-old had been attracting the interest of Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid.

Forlan reveals Prem interest

Villarreal striker Diego Forlan says Sunderland and Liverpool are two of three Premier League clubs chasing his signature.

The Black Cats and Liverpool have long been linked with Forlan, who has also attracted interest from Valencia and Barcelona after averaging a goal every other game in La Liga.

And now the Uruguay striker has revealed his current contract contains a £15million get-out clause.

He told the Sunderland Echo: "It's not only Liverpool who've asked about signing me. In January, I rejected a loan move to Sunderland. I also know another Premier League club is asking about my availability.

"I've signed a new deal with Villarreal and they have an exit clause of around £15million in my contract."

Forlan had a tough time at Old Trafford and scored only 10 goals in 63 Premiership appearances.

But the move to Spain has been a great success for Forlan, prompting increasing speculation he could return to England.

Reyes To Leave Real Madrid For Atletico - Report

According to Radio Marcá, the former Sevilla winger will join Atletico Madrid at the end of his loan spell with Real Madrid on June 30.

Jose Antonio Reyes, the man who practically won the La Liga title by inspiring Real Madrid's 3-1 comeback win over Real Mallorca, is set for a shock move across the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid must cough up 22 million euros in order to make his loan move permanent, and have indicated that they are in no mood to do that.

The only solution that Los Merengues seem to be in favour of is Julio Baptista staying on at Arsenal instead. However, neither the player nor the London club seem to be too keen on that.

In particular, Baptista has been critical of English football, and Arsene Wenger does not want to spend 22 million euros on the Brazilian, who has struggled at the Emirates.

With Real Madrid not wanting Reyes, and the player not wanting to return to Arsenal, the option that has been settled upon is a move to Atletico Madrid.

According to Radio Marca, the deal is almost done. Wenger sealed the agreement during his visit to Madrid a few weeks ago, during which he also asked about Fernando Torres.

The Arsenal boss was keen on a swap deal, but upon hearing of Torres' price-tag, decided against that.

Reyes will thus move to the Vicente Calderon on loan, though there is still a possibility that Arsenal could offer Reyes and around 10 million euros, in order to land Torres.

What seems certain, is that barring a miracle, the winger will be leaving Real Madrid.

Suazo signs for AC Milan instead of Inter

MILAN, June 19 (Reuters) - Cagliari striker David Suazo has signed for AC Milan having previously agreed to join rivals Inter, the European champions said on Tuesday.

'The Honduran striker will wear the shirt of Milan next season,' a statement said on the club's website

'The transfer from Cagliari to the Rossoneri went ahead after negotiations during the night.'

No financial details of the deal were announced but media said he had cost more than €14 million.

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino said last Wednesday that Inter had made a great buy in purchasing Suazo although the Italian champions never announced
