Going on a 5D4N F&E trip to HK. Need advise on planing the trip.
Can i plan to go to Shen Zheng and Macau this 2 places in 1 day? Will start off early in the morning.
Mainly for Photography and SANDS Casino to look see for Macau, have a preview before the IR in SG. :)
Shopping at Shen Zheng. Is it safe to go to Shen Zheng with only 2 person? What currency they using at in Shen Zheng?
Would like to make full use of the 5Days there. Will also be planing to go to Lantau island to visit the giant buddha. Not planing for the Ocean Park and Disney.
Any other place that fellows HWZ can reccommend for midrange shopping and food in HK. ;)

shenzhen use chinese currency loh
RMB.
shenzhen is quite alright. i just came back 10days ago. just keep yr valuables out of sight. it's safe, doesnt mean no crime(sounds like police ad?)
depends on waht u want to buy in SZ. i do not know how u split 2 days 1 night in SZ and macau.
if u want to buy electronics go to Hua qiang bei shang ye jie.
for clothes, there's a wholesaler place called Fu zhuang jie.

Not recommended to visit Shenzhen and Macau in only 1 day. Try to do at least 1 day each. There are quite a few nice places in Macau other than the casinos.

if possible, bring HSBC credit card for use in HK coz alot of retail shops got discount using the card....just ask before paying...

Hi Everyone, thanks for your advise! I'm trying to make full use of my stay over there, it seem like i will have to put ShenZhen 1 day, Macau 1 day and the remaining days for Lan Tau Island for the Giant Buddha, Hongkong Island and shopping....Hope everything will goes well as plan.

great for 1 day each at the respective loc. If you are flying into HK, take the MTR to Luowu, crossed into Shenzhen for your shopping. There is a LuoWu Commerical Bldg after crossing the custom and lots of stuff under one roof. The Metro (new) can bring you to Hua qiang bei shang ye jie for all electronics and mobile phones stuffs. Do remember to slashed 70% if you are shopping at the LuoWu Commerical BLDG.
Macau, cookies and foods are great. If you are planning to go over from HK, take the ferry at Central.
For HK, guess you would have to read thru the HK forum that hv lots of info. Hv Fun !

Please kindly check with HSBC.com.hk to reconfirm again about this

nope.
most retailers there do not accept credit cards at all.
those that do mostly accept some local bank's card, not hsbc, i remember it's some corny name.
the tour guide told us it's because they are stingy on costs and so even if they have, it's usually a big group of small coys sharing 1 billing account.

i used it before.....they won't recognise SG HSBC for 0% installment payment, but for normal payment, can get discount....no problem....i got discounts at Bossini, G2000, dim sum restaurant, japanese restaurant.....at Mongkok and Central.....

i agree....the local mom and pop shops is only cash dealings....but if want to pay by credit card, eg at Sincere House (buy handphone), just pay 2% surchage....... if you go to bigger retai shops.....credit card no problem......and also no problem at restaurants......
no harm asking them whether got HSBC card discount during payment, if got, u save...if not, u still pay the original price.....
by the way HSBC is based in HK.
