Hey all,
Saw in today's Classifieds, Super Travels has a 13/15 day Europe Romance package priced at $2800. Departure Dec 10 , 17 or 24( most likely taking 24 )
Total of 7 countries, France, Italy, Switzerland, germany, Holland, Austria and belgium. Called them up at 62939622 to check and most likely flying on Emirates ( good airline ) and also, the itinerary seems very good as well! Also checked out the hotels online ( ya we do alot of research haha ). they're good.
Chan Brothers has a similar package ( I suspect they both tie up with the same agency in Europe that runs this tour ) but when you compare both incl all surcharges, Super Travels is cheaper by around $500 !!
the only problem is...... We've never heard of Super Travels before ..at all.... Has anyone?
How is their service?
Do you guys think this tour package is worth it?
Please advise.... We're seriously considering this...Just a little worried as we've never had any experience with Super Travels before....

since you had already done some research, of course, the cheaper the merrier.
But u must always remember that if the tour group falls short of passengers, the whole tour group will be cancelled. (Normally 14days before departure). Also the agency dont have to compensate you at all and refund will be 2 weeks to 3months time.
Why dont you consider going thru insight vacations package? Guarantee good stuff with excellent services.
If not, choose between the 2 agency that are guarantee departure on that date.
S$500 is not a big amount if it can give you a peace of mind and looking forward to your holidays.

Hi, Thanks for your reply :)
Have tried Insight before during a Europe trip in 2005. Was not too impressed...We were housed in hotels that left something to be desired and the food provided was also pretty sad ( e.g. spaghetti with tomato sauce only ). Adding that to the airline tickets we booked ourselves, we actually spent more than what our friends did for a similar tour booked entirely through travel agents here.
Thanks for your advice. I immediately called them again. Seems they need 3 more people to make it a confirmed tour on the date I chose ( dec 24 ) and the guy tells me chances are very high, so guess that's not so much of a worry....
Only thing is the reputation ahahahha...have you ever heard of them?

I would never go for European tours with Tour Agencies. At that price, I can do much more, myself. Just last year I did a 1 month Europe Tour to 7 Cities inclusive of Dubai for S$7K with my wife. I actually only paid S$5K Cash as my Co paid for my air tix.
But its up to you. Don't forget that this price is exclusive of taxes and mandatory tips. BTW, Air France is now running a Promo to European Cities at S$850 before tax. After tax is around S$1.2K per pax...

I'm not sure why anyone would consider such 'whirlwind' tour packages. At most a day or two in each country, and spending a lot of time on the road. Just doesn't feel very rewarding to me.

7 countries 15 days is mad.
I did 5 countries 21 days and I thought that was waaay too rush already.
Are you going to europe for a tour or just to get a stamp in your passport?

Worse, some countries don't even issue passport. Like I went to Venice and Rome without any stamps on my passport. As for France, I need to go there 3 times to get my 1st chop. Europeans are not security maniacs unlike the Yanks...

Maybe my info is a bit outdated now..Many years ago we joined Insight Tour for our honeymoon to Europe visiting 6 countries (England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy) in 15 days. We booked our package and ticket through local agent and flew there to join their tour. It was leisurely tour guided by a very professional and knowledgeable British guide throughout, with the group consisting of friendly people from all over the world..and we really had an enjoyable time then.
And then last year, we joined Super Travel for a packaged tour to Harbin in Dec. We were actually thinking of going to Korea but the salesagent persuaded us to go Harbin instead saying that it was more worth it (cheaper plus you get free winter coat..) He even assured us that we'll get to see "Bin Tiao" (Ice Sculpture), the main attraction, there.
Overthere we found their food and lodging acceptable but we didn't get to see the "Bin Tiao" as they hv promised becos the venue was not opened yet! Like us, a lot of our tour members also felt cheated becos the salesagent also promised the same thing to them--too bad we were too careless to hv overlooked the fine prints in our contract (cos they said they won't be responsible if we don't get to see...)
One thing you must note is that like many other tour agencies, the actual fare you pay will always be higher than what they advertised on newspaper. In our case, they advertised for $888 but we end up paying $1.1k+ each!

That's because of the EU and the lowering of borders between EU member countries. Security is only tighter at the international points like ports and int'l airports and along borders of EU and non-EU states.
There is a serious illegal immigration issue to the EU so the security along the international borders of frontline EU states and places like Eastern Europe and North Africa are very well policed.

Singapore immigration issues our passports.
Why are U expecting some other countries to issue your passport???
