Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. :s13:

In general, yes.

Ultimately, your commuting habits as well as how heavy your right foot is.

Fiat is of Italian heritage.

TS really knows how to joke :s13:

Or unless he meant that Italian cars are also notorious fuel guzzlers, then he makes sense...heheh

Anyway, the bigger they are, the more they consume - simple rule of thumb

Not really doesn't mean the car is bigger, means consume more fuel.

I did some reading on Honda Civic Hybrid. real life fuel consumption is not low because the bodykit is heavy as normal honda civic and its only 1.3

If it has a higher cc, you tend to step lighter on your accelerator to move your car. In turn it uses less fuel.

But well, compared to a normal Civic, it consumes much less petrol.

Generally lah...

And I was talking about size and weight here, not enginee cc woah :s13:

Plus it is not necessarily true that a higher cc would consume less - case in point - the Bugatti Veron - 8l car with 2 engines and 10 radiators - guzzles petrol like a camel :p

Hyundai cars are not fuel saver cars. :s13:

To answer your question, yes. :)

hyundai cars are not fuel efficient.though they did explain about aluminium engines and so,the are not fuel efficient.

this is because all hyundai cars are generally heavy, though they crash badly.

their 2.7V6 engines are known with bad timing belt and very fuel-holics.their V6 sips petrol as if petrol is free.

What's the correlation between "aluminum engines" and fuel economy?

Inferring from the below quote;

I'd be inclined to believe silcosilvia is implying that aluminum engines are not fuel efficient.

If he meant otherwise, perhaps he'd need to learn to be more concise.

:s13:

In general, the automotive industry is pushing for wider adoption of aluminum engine blocks, in the attempt to improve fuel efficiency with the weight savings. But cost is a perpetual demon.

Very contrasting statement... Think you shouldn't use the word "sip" in this case.

Hmmm then TUCSON will not be suitable to go on road trips up north lah.... Anybody drive up to Malaysia for short getaways?

What car are you driving? Avg costs of petrol per trip?

Korean cars are never good at FC? I don't think so.

Compare Avante with Altis, Lancer, Impreza and you will know who will be the winner in terms of FC. (Note* I had driven all before I am saying this.)

Compare Sonata and Magentis taxis to those Toyota Crown, Nissan Cedic.
Which got more power and better in FC.

Kindly do some proper comparision before commenting on something which you thought is right.

Thank you.

No offence though.

2nd this. Avante drivers like myself and others will know what Molely is talking about.

If you do want an SUV, you could consider the Toyota Rush which has a similar price tag but available only as a parallel import.

My friend reports FC of average 9km/L for his Tucson, he's a heavy footer, drives to North 3 times/week, and clocked 95,000km for 2 years on his ride.

I wouldn't touch an Altis with a 10 foot pole..

Tucson more my cup of tea...

how's the F/C of Avante?

I do a healthy mix of light and heavy footwork.

When light - 12-13km/l average.
When heavy - 9-10km/l average.

I find Shell 95/Shell 98/V-Power works great with the Avante.

Tuscon is a heavy 2L SUV.. so unfair to compare FC with sedans like Altis.. Wanna compare FC must compare with 2L SUV like CRV or Grand Vitara.. then u'll realise none of the SUV have good FC.. :s13:

Consider Kia Sportage with CNG (from authorised dealer).
SUV size, lower cost of CNG, warranty by agent, cost less than Jap/Conti SUV.

Considerations with getting Kia Sportage with CNG will be..

1) C&C got super strict policy that voids warranty if dun go back for their expensive servicing.
2) CNG - few stations in remote areas. prices are going up faster than petrol. got chance lta will impose special tax on cng vehicles after 2009.

Else i would think that CNG Carens would be a better buy than Sportage cos it's newer and more updated.
