i'm travelling to hong kong tml for 1 week and what's the cheapest way to call back singapore from hong kong? i'm using singtel and there's this global 121 which is the cheapest. how abt sms?

i've read it somewhere that you can buy hkg prepaid card but what much does it cost to sms and call back sin?

Do you have a WIFI phone or bring your notebook there? If you do, get a pfingo account (by starhub), you can call any Singapore numbers (mobile or fixed line) free. The only inconvenient is that you must be within the WIFI zone.

i'm using n81. it does have wifi but i'm using singtel leh..is it totally free or hav to subscribe?

I think new subscribers are given 6 month free trial and after that need to pay something like a dollar per month.

The service that I was referring to call PfingoTalk. You need to install a software to your n81 or notebook. You will also be given an 8 digit # begins with '3'. The nice thing is when you pfingo call, your # actually displays on the recipient handphone (ie if he/she subscribes to CND).

ooo..thanks for the info. i've just sign up for pfingo. but u mention that i can only call when i'm in wifi zone? so same for receiving calls and sms too?

Yes, receiving of incoming call and SMS is free. I believe you will also be given some free credit to send SMS too. But the credit is limited.

But you are on holiday in HKG right? wouldn't it be restrictive if you keep yourself only to WIFI enabled area? just curious. :)

find peoples card.. its a prepaid card, something like our Hi card like that. calling singapore is like a local hk call. the rate is $0.25 a min. this is in hk dollars. :) go and surf the other threads.. got more info on this..

use calling card? i bought a HK$50 (S$10) card the last time i went there and it was good for a few hundred mins. that's the cheapest way i think.
