I stayed here in London if you don't mind staying in a 'party hostel'
Expect communal showers and toilets, lockers and double decker beds in your bunks.
But for its 'cheap price' you'll get and all you can eat breakfast buffet (cereals, hot beverages, cheese, bread etc), towels and bed linens plus theme nights at the bar every single night.
Link is here, you can book by credit card but you'll pay cash on arrival if i recall correctly.

and i'll recommend these walking tours when you are in both cities. Its free (they work on tips but its not compulsory)

If you don't mind staying in hostels (you can book doubles or triples as well, not just dorm beds), look into http://www.hostelworld.com. Look at the reviews, and with luck, you can find a good one that is in a good location and comparable to a hotel.

It depends on what is your budget really...

In Paris (2004) we stayed in this hotel http://www.hoteldesuezparis.com/ ..

At that time the rates is at 98 Euros a night. It's quite ok considering that it's strategically located in St Michel ... Check the website for the latest rates...

I will be staying there too in July. Is it near La Defense Metro? Convenient? How's the surrounding environment? Got any shops?

Hi gunners, There are many hotels in audi a6 turbo charger (http://www.turbochargerpros.com/audi_a6_turbo_charger.html) and Paris (http://www.sletoh.com/r143798.html) that can interest you....all of them have a budget that differs. Its just the place that you had like to visit...some are centrally located too but it depends on your sole view.;)

Mecure La Defense is in the La Defense district. Thats actually the business district of Paris. If you're here for fun, then its not the nearest place to be in town. Having said that, its not too far away from everything too.

Its not in the La Defense Station, but rather the Esplanade de La Defense Station (1 metro stop, within 15 min walking distance). The La Defense Station is home to many lines, RER A, Metro 1, Tram 2, RATP just to name a few, while the Esplanade de La Defense is only to M1.

But again, M1 would be OK in general as it heads to many tourist spots. Only that it takes much longer. For example, from La Defense to Charles de Gualle Etoile on RER A is 1 stop. On Metro No 1, its 6 stops... Go grab yourself a Metro Map or something first ba..

Thanks for your reply. Understand that there is a hotel shuttle service from Mercure to La Defense Metro. Did you try that? How's the schedule like?

You mean Esplanade de Le Defense is nearer to walk to hotel than La Defense Station?

Don't know about the Hotel Shutte. Basically, what I mean is that the hotel is nearer to Esplanade de La Defense and not La Defense. Its 2 different station (1 stop via Metro 1). Thats all. But actually walkable one lar.. Around 10 minutes lor...

From the maps of google, it looked far from Esplanade de La Defense. So with your french experience, what transport would you recommend for 4 pax to move from Paris to CDG? Airport shuttle or taxi?

So I guess you get around Paris by METRO often, rite? Recommend to get the 1-day mobilis? Cos me only staying at Paris for 2 nights. Any other good shopping areas besides Champs Elysees & Lafayette? Have you been to La Vallee Shopping Village?
