Maxtor - one touch 4 mini external drive - led light stop working

using this drive for a couple of months

today discover the led light on the external drive stopped working

is it serious? i can still access the data inside the drive.

what should i do?

I have just bought this baby (maxtor one touch 4 mini) with 320 GB, and, the light is not working right from the begining.

my led also stopped working, but HDD is fine den i just leave it. don't even use that button anyway,,

external HDD usually one-for-one exchange w where u buy from...

Really disappointing.

I took it back to the store where I bought it. Waited 2 days (as per his instruction), then went back to collect it. He said the vendor's agent (of maxtor) said that this model does not have a light. It's just a button. !!!!!!!!!!!

How cheap of a lie. I've never seen a disk drive in my entire life that does not have a led or some other sort of light. Hard disks, floppy drives, cd/dvd drives, you name it, even flash disks have lights.

I'll never buy a Maxtor/Seagate again.
