I have wireless camera Dlink DCS-5220 running with its latest firmware 1.04 connecting to Lynsys wireless router WCS2000. I have already set everything properly and have no issue streaming using dyndns.org address anywhere EXCEPT when I am at work :( - which kinda defeat the purpose as I spend most of the morning & afternoon at office.
My office has corporate firewall which is blocking RTSP connection, but latest firmware 1.04 has come with HTTP client setting (on top of UDP & TCP) . However, even HTTP option has been selected, an error message "Connect Failed" are displayed and I see nothing but blank screen.
The other functionality works well though ... meaning I can move my camera as well as initiate auto patrol. Everything BUT the picture :(
First I thought it was my corporate firewall, but the funny thing is I can view Dlink demo camera (DCS 5300G) properly.
If anybody has any idea how to handle this issue .. pls help. thx

Company network ? I dun think you can stream your home IP camera at work as your company network blocks all ports except proxy.

Yep. It's company network. But how come I can streamline demo cam at Dlink office?

TS, have you tried accessing your camera using another pc outside of your office network (like friend's pc) just to make sure the problem is not with your setup at home?

Dlink office could be using their network with IP camera ports open to demo. I dun think your company will open those ports.

Yeah, I tried almost from everywhere even from overseas network. Whenever I am connected to non-corporate network using any computer, I am able to view the picture properly. :s11:

Errr .. I can view Dlink demo camera from my company network. So when I log to Dlink demo camera from my work, I successfully streamline the picture; but when login to my camera at home from the same office network, I couldn't get the picture ... :s11:
I also have a 5220 and cannot view the video in my office no matter which port i opened. FYI, i can view the video from Cambodia and not my office. However, i can view the snapshot. which is not what i want but better than nothin.
I juz checked and my hardware is A1 and firmware is 1.02. Can i use the new firmware 1.04 which is listed to work under A2? Perhaps it can solve some of the recording problem.
Oh, is there a better software to view the mp4 clip? I cant even use the surveillance program to play.
Thks

Your office must have blocked rtsp or relevant port that you've defined into ur ip cam.

Hi guys,
Sorry, quite a newbie in networking. Need some help from the experts here.
I've set up DCS-5220. I can view it at home over WLAN. I now want to be able to view it from office.
I've set up the DDNS on the DCS-5220. I've also opened the port 80 and ports 5556-5559 on my 2WIRE Wireless router. The router is used with Singtel Broadband. I've set up the ddns at dlinkddns.com.
The remaining question is, how do I now remotely view the camera? Do i just type in xxxx.dlinkddns.com? (xxx = the host name that I've chosen). I tried it but can't connect. I checked my account at dlinkddns.com and it seems like the ip address is not updated. Is this because Singtel doesn't allow port 80?
Thanks in advance for your help!

you need to input the DDNS setting correctly into the camera.

Check with your company which ports are restricted. You have to port forward all the ports in the config menu, since its not just RTSP port alone.
You may also wan try VPN soln to bypass such restriction, provided itself is also not restricted.

Hi,
Just chance upon this thread, and wonder if I can contribute some useful info.
I used to encountered similar issue with DCS-5220 in office network, but finally got it resolved. Just wonder if you guys still require input?
If need be I can try to compile the steps I've gone through to resolve the issue...need to check setup in my devices! If you have the problem solved, then it'll save my hassle in checking :-)

Does changing RTSP port number to 1025 helps?

Hi Jo,
My issue is slove. Actually I exchange the 2 wire for a new one instate touble the old one and set again the setup and now I have no problems to see it in office or Mobile phone.
The problems more on the 2 wire set itself rather then the setup port. I am using port 80 and have no issue
