Just like Portugal once you changed the starting lineup, they will lose their rhythm of the game as they never really play together hence they still cannot gel as an unit. That resulted in the loss against Swiss. However, it might also be a case where Portugal is giving the host nation some face as they don't want the Swiss to finish the tournament with no points.

Yes, you're right to a certain extend. Germans might look to score as many as possible while Austria also need a win to qualify but what is the odds of Austria overcoming the German? Knowing that German will go all out attacking to get both the win and goals, there will definitely be space at back which means Austria can look to pounce on. In my opinion, Austria played quite well in their first two matches just that they have got no firepower. In a 3-way tie, sorry if I am not clear in my explanations. If they are level on points, and you can't use head-to-head record to determine the winner, then it will be down to GD. Eg. Team A beat Team B, Team B beat Team C, and Team C beat Team A, then got to use GD. It can even be a combi of draws and win (the permutations too chim already!).
