HELP--Error Msg about file being use by another program

it being like almost a month, now and then when i move rename or try to edit a file, on and off i will get a msg saying that the file is being use by another person or program Error. i'm using norton sercuity 08 scan through my system no spyware or what can some one help me how to solve this problem?

try to download Unlocker and see whether what process tie to the file u are trying to rename.

Did you try restarting your PC? It could be that a program did not exit correctly and the handle to the file is still active.

another way to delete the files is go to dos mode to delete the files. it work for me when i have the error msg same as you. :)

For AVI files, it's a common problem due to WinXP still loading some info even in Windows Explorer.

Either you wait a short while later (30 seconds to a minute) and rename, or Google on how to overcome this problem with some registry editing.
