define your branded goods, if it is like LV, Chanel, Gucci, etc, it is cheaper in Singapore although selection is lesser.

Yup branded goods esp Gucci. I did do my research and found out one of the good buys would be the Burberrys Blue Label which is only available in Japan!

seriously, there isn't much cheaper buys in japan, rather go for more unique brands which cannot be found or easily found in singapore.

burberry blue and black label is catered for the japanese market, mainly selling point is the exclusive designs. Clothes not really cheap, t-shirts easily more than S$100, made in china somemore, though that didn't stop me or my wife from spending foolish amt of money on their clothes. Bags can be worthwhile, much cheaper than those in the usual burberry boutique, but quality is different, filmsier material, not as good and not sure the country of origin.

uniqlo is probably the cheapest brand around, its like the japanese version of gap, and its everywhere.

there are also some factory outlets where you might find some good discounts. There's a good one just a train stop from Kansai Airport, there's even free shuttle service from the airport. There's another branch about 1~1.5hrs from Tokyo, near Mt. Fuji.

to me, uniqlo is more like giordano, g2blu rather than gap...

gap is def better la...

their gap if can get 50% off is gd deal...i saw some items selling 50% off

Sg max also 20% only

If u dun mind second-hand shops, u actually find alot in tokyo..some of things is pretty worth, like a music cd, etc koda kumi (almost like new!) , u guess how much i buy? only SGD$2.xx!! so cheap.. unlike u find those in hereen shops , from japan import is damn expensive , over $40.. i think somewhere near ginza, there is also a second hand shop but i cannot remember where

From narita airport (if u have free time), there is a narita aeon shopping centre, there is a pretty good second shop sells alot of cds.. burberry blue label up to u all wan to buy or not..

wan cheap, try avoid those tourists, shopping areas (akiba, ginza, shibuya, roppiongi..)..look out wat locals buy from daily.. i went alot of shopping centre, i seem there is not much different from SG..just some things newer than sg

i recommend ginza for shopping. biggest uniqlo and burberry blue/black branches are there, and there's a matsuya department store, which stocks pretty much alot of stuff, like FP and CDG.

this shopping map is pretty useful. link (http://superfuture.com/city/city/city.cfm?city=1) :D
