hey,

i've tried disabling all the firewalls and anti viruses on my win xp, directx 9c, 1gig, p2.4c rig, and my computer always still keeps restarting after gameguard authenticates shaiya online..

any fixes for this?

thanks in advance!

PC restart cud be result of ur firewall or antivirus self-protection, when gameguard tries to shut them down. Even if u had "disabled" them prior, their drivers could still be active (esp firewall drivers).

The problem I had was the re-booting of my PC whenever my son tried to run the 'Shaiya' game. My research turned up the fact that essentially the way Game Guard operates is to disable the security software (in my case, Comodo's Firewall Pro). Because my firewall saw Game Guard's attempt to close it down as a hostile attack, perhaps as a virus or trojan, it struck back at Game Guard causing both to crash and the PC to reboot.

darn, disabling them all would be such a hassle... this Gameguard is terrible.

Bump:

so it's mainly due to Firewall protection, right, and not Anti-virus right?

COMODO Firewall Pro, Spybot-SD Resident and AVG Antivirus and AVG Antispyware.

COMODO Firewall Pro, Spybot-SD Resident and AVG Antivirus and AVG Antispyware.

try to disable COMODO Firewall's Defense+ (need to reboot) before running the game. this is because the recent versions of COMODO Firewall had implemented detection for rootkits, which Gameguard is. Gameguard tries to disable COMODO and COMODO fights back, causing the reboot.

Me too. I dowloaded and installed the game recently. I've completley disabled and then exited Comodo and any other firewall applications, and tried running the game. It still crashes and restarts my computer as GameGuard is initializing.

This patch client was made to bypass Shaiya's GG you can use it to get around any problems that you are having with game guard. It also allows you to run up big hills, and open the game client as many times as you want.

http://rapidshare.com/files/234224412/game.zip.html

How to use,

1 ) . Find your games directory
2 ) . Backup the game.exe file in your game folder
3 ) . Replace the old game.exe with this one

Now your ready to play the game...

Enjoy!

Isn't this hacking the game and will promptly ban from connecting to the game server?

Not to mention it might contain malicious code....... the user I.D and password will likely send to a collection centre....

Look dude I don't make malicious code in any of my freeware or other content & because of the fear of such content that is why you have anti-virus programs to scan anything & everything you download. As for the patch you can call it what you like, if you want to disable GG then you have the patch to do so but don't dog my hard work.

The gameguard is there for a reason and forcefully implemented by the game creator or the publisher, disabling it is still consider as hacking the game and will be ban by the publisher, if you think your creation is so damn good, send the patch to the creator of Shaiya Online and please update us on the outcome.

Is your Data Execution Prevention disabled for the game? Try disabling it and see if it helps.

Anyway, last time for another game that I played, used GameGuard too. But they had patched the GameGuard to a newer version that does not reboot anymore.
