am going to london in sept to study, so need to find cheap air ticket :D

which airline is recommended? and through which agency?

i've done a little searching. qantas seems less ex than sq, and also have direct flight. am also considering flights with transit (thai airways, etihad airways). is qantas code share with british airways?

thanks in advance

If you're looking for cheap flights, look for Thai, Etihad, Emirates. QF & BA owns a chunk of each other so they code-share each other all the time. IMO, QF has a better product as compared to BA, so I would be careful...

hey bro, thanks for the reply.

any agency recommended? or just approach airline directly?

so, you recommend to stay away from BA? :D

Yes. BA is not bad. But not better then any of the products I just listed. If you wanna fly direct, QF / SQ is the way to go. There is no reason to fly BA unless you don't have a choice or you wanna fly their WT+.

BTW, I forgot to add Qatar into the list. As for agencies, use Zuji as a Guide and start calling all agencies. I've booked with P2PTravel.com and Zuji and I find them both pretty good

buy direct from airline website, don't buy from agency

the in-flight entertainment for QF is better than that of BA and Thai. you can't start or pause movies as you please on BA, and for Thai you don't even have your own screen, and that sucks big time for a long flight.

if you book QF/BA through their websites, they actually tell you which airline is operating the flight. (so you can pick and choose)

Not applicable all of the time. In fact, most of the time, buy from agency is better, especially for special classes tix

Beware, when you buying QF or BA ticket. (Different ticket different T&C)

When you are changing LHR-SIN date, it is also not easy to get "V" or "L" class seat.
you may have to pay for the date change fee (per transcation) and the differences of the fuel surcharge.

===================================================

SQ Student fares "40 KG" and 1 year ticket validity should be the best bet.
Taking A380. No charges for change of date (u can change many times). No extra charges of tax/fuel once ticket is issued.

S$2000 + S$444 (taxes/fuel) = S$2444. "Y" Class or code "YSDSG"

Take note : online or sq.com.sg does not sell student fares. You have to purchase it thru travel agency at a service fee of S$30 to S$80.
