When I do heavy stuff, say 4-6 reps of squats, bench presses, I clench my teeth very hard. I dont know why, but its sort of a natural reaction to feel the power thru my body; although i know it sounds stupid.
My question here is, will it affect nerves and/or my teeth if I clench it too hard?

ur tooth is protected by the enamel of ur teeth... the enamel prevents any direct connection to the nerve which causes tooth sensitivity....so if u were to grind ur teeth when u slp etc and the enamel is grind off.. u get very sensitive tooth over time and ur teeth will look ugly cos of the uneven surface

If you can't really refrain from it, put something soft in between your teeth and bite it.

Wonder if teeth clenching when lifting is related to teeth grinding at night, I do both :( Magnesium used to work but seems to have stopped being effective :(

if TS have not enlist into NS yet..i suggest u go NS den do..less den $200 can get customised...if nt depends on the clinic...not all neighbourhood clinic are cheap fyi...the dental practise is not like food court,i set up in neighbourhood thus its cheaper logic...

Hi Rooney888,
I had a similar situation. I ended up doing some research online and found a sweet mouth guard protector from totalgard.com .. I wasn't sure if you were still looking .. these things can be tough to get a good fit/idea for. :s12:
