Hi everyone, I need help trying to restore data from one of my internal HDD.

Situation:

I have 2 HDD in my computer, 1 SATA and 1 IDE. Not too long ago, I formatted my SATA HDD and upgraded from Win XP to Win Vista. However after this upgrade, my IDE HDD becomes undetectable.

I went to Disk Management and saw that my IDE HDD has become a Dynamic Disk. The only other option I can do is to convert this disk to Basic. I do not know how did all these happen coz I did not do anything to the IDE HDD when installing Vista.

I tried disconnecting the IDE HDD and put it into an external casing but it is still undetectable. It only show up as Dynamic Disk in the Disk Management.

Help:

Any pros can advise what can I do to retrieve the data that is still in the HDD? I fear if I convert the HDD to Basic, data might be lost in the process, or will it still be saved as it is?
