Unable to install fonz’s fun_plug for DNS-313

I followed the guides at shadowandy's http://www.shadowandy.net/2008/05/running-fonzs-fun_plug-05-on-dns-313.htm and here http://forum.dsmg600.info/t2008-HOWTO%3A-DNS-313-fun_plug-dummies-them%29.html but it just doesn't work.

I get this when i telnet to it:

must i flash it to the newest firmware of "DNS-313_1.01b14" ?

You can try flashing but the fun plug should still work with the default firmware. We have all tried fun plugging 313 successfully. Check your steps and try again. If still cannot, i'll advise you to format your hard disk and try again in case you follow the steps wrongly and extract ffp to wrong folder when you edit the file wrongly.

Thank you for the replies to me so far, really a great help. Thing is, i found out that i needed the unlock code: 5784468 to see the "#" sign.

Ok, right now i'm trying to get Transmission installed... but why is everything so difficult? I show u guys some more screen shots on what i mean:

btw, how do i reformat the HDD using the NAS? Using the CD's Quick Install, it prompts me that it is unable to detect the HDD.

i think the firmware removed it

then install fun plug again

acess http;//192.168.0.13 (ip of ur 313) and see where to format ur hdd

i dun have any 313 with me at the moment to help u see

i didn't update the firmware. Its still ver 1.0

When you first telnet . you are actually at /home/root directory. Type "pwd" to check your current directory location.

If you go the root directory, you will find /mnt as one of subdirectories.
