Recently just kapo and surf Jabra website and saw this cool with new technology "noise cancellation" dual mic headset. Was really impressed by this and wondering what's the huge price tag for this baby here. :s13:
Anyone who already had this baby hook onto your ear do share your reviews on this new model with us here. :D

im also waiting for this headset since the recent computer show. have checked with the official distributor in sg, Ingram Micro and they said this headset should be here in oct, latest by the next computer show in Nov.
among those dual mic noise cancel headset like :
Jabra BT530
Itech iVoicePro
Plantronics Voyager 835
Motorola H15 and H780
i would still pick the jabra one, hope the price is cheap when jab launches it.

Too late liao, mine already shipped out and reaching vpost in 1-2 days time according to the tracking. If order now will still consider as new order invoice and vpost will charge another seperate handling cost.
However, if you still needs me to order for you can always reach me at 9747 7775. Just TT me SG$60, the remaining balance will let you know again after the USD conversion rate reflected in my statement & vpost shipping rate.

Finally received it today. So far yet to test out the wind/noise proofing issue but there's something I really do like about this BT530.
Had been trying to find any headset that can connect to my notebook via bluetooth and make use of it as a stereo headset but so far I yet to find any until I received BT530. Searching for BT530 from my N82 & Notebook is really a breeze as it's so much faster than I expected it to be, it's just like a blink of eye once you had activate the bluetooth.
Had it connect to notebook first. Played a mp3 and was quite happy with the kind of sound that I'm hearing from it, smooth and can notice some nice bass. Once you had the BT530 connected volume control can no longer be done from your keyboard volume button. Curious to know how far is the connection. Walk about 4-5 meters away from my notebook and the connection was still good.
While listening to the mp3 played by my notebook, I took out my N82 and tried to connect to BT530. Well, both connected without breaking into my wonderful music. Now I make a call to my home, music stop and I hear ringing tone without disconnection from the notebook. I hang up the call and immediately the mp3 is back again.
So far so good, it had exceeded what I had expected out from it. Will conduct voice/wind/noise test soon and post my reviews up again asap. :D

Noise cut test conducted few hrs back. My method of judging base on my N82 conversation recording system as I got installed software which will auto record all conversations. At such listening back to the recording is the best as it record purely on the voice quality from the receiver and from my mic.
Toa Payoh Hub center hall (roadshow area) around 8pm crowded period
Background noise can be heard but very mild, my own voice still much louder.
Standing along roadside near expressway (many cars)
Background noise can be heard but those cars exhaust noise very mild. Need not much effort, no need to shout and the other party still can hear me.
Inside car, audio volume 16 (quite loud and I'm quite near to my speaker on top 3-way)
Although music was loud but the noise really cut off most of the background music. Same thing, no need to shout yet my wife still can hear me.

The reason why I ordered thru Amazon is because of the price, don't think you can get it locally for around SGD$100. Look at the JX model, I remember SLS was selling $200 plus if not wrong so let think of this BT530 with dual mic what kind of price tag it will hang on it. :o

Just got it last night at 9.15pm. US$67 from Amazon.com, and another US$10+ from comgateway.com. Comgateway couriered it to me from USA via DHL.
Previously I was using a Nokia HS26 but the rubber holder starts to disintegrate, so the decision to get a replacement. Pairing with the Omnia cannot be anymore simpler because Omnia will default use "0000" or "8888" to pair with any BT device, and the BT530 defaults to "0000". Omnia detects the BT530 as a hands-free and headset device. So I can actually stream audio from the Omnia to the BT530 using A2DP. The audio quality is very clear and loud, so much better than the Nokia. I have yet to try it outside or in a noisy environment. Today I paired it with my PC and I can stream audio to it from my PC. It can also be use with Skype.
I have problem with the ear gels though. Dunno which is the right way to wear it. Without the hook, it is wobbly and I'm afraid it might drop off from my ear without my knowledge. So I am using the hook.
2 pics I took of it. The packaging is fantastic and the accessories that came with it make it worth the money.

This reviews was actually quite true "Uncomfortable inner earpiece". You can see all along I didnt mentioned on the ear gel. However I find this problem can be solve if you use without the hook as I find the hook combine with ear gel doesn't really fit comfortably as there's not much room for you to adjust due to the hook fix positioning.
twosix
17-10-2008, 08:33 AM
The earpiece is too big to fit into my ear, so I use the bigger hook. The bigger hook is slightly longer, so if I shake hard enough, the BT530 can drop off my ear, but it has to be a very hard shake or bump. The smaller hook is too small and after some time of wearing, make my ear ache.
But overall, it is still more comfortable than my old nokia.

Battery life seems to be short after the first use.. hopefully it gets better after a few charge.
The rest seems of the function seems to be fine. Working well with my omnia. But it seems to become a2dp connected everytime I on the headset. Thus need to disable on the first time use everyday.

I just got mine this afternoon, havent really have a chance to test the noise cancellation, just paired it with my i780.
i only tested the A2DP, streamed some music, and the sound is crystal clear. the eargels (without the hook) doesnt really fit my ears, tried all 3 sizes, settled for the biggest one and still not snug.
its not listed in the box insert but double clicking on the answer button will redial the last dialed number.
press and hold is suppose to start the MS Voice Command program but its a bit dodgey, but thats entirely samsung's fault, their phones got this bluetooth stack problem.
if u dont want the A2DP connected all the time, disable it in your omnia's bluetooth manager and leave only the headset profile, it'll still work fine, might even save some battery life.

do u guys notice that the headset sometimes have problem answering calls. for example, when u press the answer button on the headset, the phone picks up the call but there is no sound neither in the headset nor the hp.
im not sure if this is due to the A2DP setting, i currently have it on. or maybe its the new firmware...
jeremys
14-11-2008, 12:06 AM
heh fixed it, was tweaking with the reg file and changed something...anyway if u guys are comfortable with editing the reg file, u can add these settings in for the A2DP that i tested for the last few days, it increases the quality of the sound and also stops the skipping.
