The 2-hr finale concluded a very mixed S5, which saw Edie returned in a hallucination scene with Dave.
The cliffhanger at the end is the remarriage of Mike Delfino. The bride is not revealed. My bet is on Katherine Mayfair.

S5 suffers a loss in plot momentum much like S2. The Dave williams mystery was unveiled too early, imo, leaving watchers with nothing much to guess. The plot itself was also put on the line midseason with episodes such as the deaths of Eli Scruggs & Edie Brit with massive flashback scenes that were likeable but utimately halted the entire plot action.

The Solis rags-to-riches story was simply too fantastic to stomach. The hausfrau Gabby was much preferred than the rich-again Gabby.

My fav seasons, in order:
1. S1 (the MA mystery; no surprise)
2. S4 (the Katherine Mayfair mystery; superb addition of Dana Delaney, totally trumped the 5 ladies!)
3. S5 (the Dave Williams mystery)
4. S3 (the Orson Hodge mystery; mystery ended prematurely midseason with the pregnancy of Marcia Cross)
5. S2 (the Applewhite mystery)
