Hi,
Some of the keys on my keypad are not functioning correctly...I mean i don't get the "click" effect when clicking on them. This is the case with the keys I use most...so they must be worn.
My question: will replacing the keypad solve this problem...or is the problem more severe, so lying underneath the keypad?
Thanks in advance,
Herman

another problem i had was the keypad backlight didnt lit up when i press the keys. it only lights up after like awhile when i stopped pressing. wth. is that some software issue or wad?

keypad is also linked to the light sensor. it will not light up if it senses sufficient light.

oh ok. cool.
i sent in for repair and the service personel told me that it has been sent for repair before by the previous owner for the button problem and it cant be repaired coz of some corrosion thing. wth man.
is it really true that the corrosion thing cant be repaired at all or is it not covered by warranty and the nokia ppl dun wanna repair?

well friends i had the same problem with my e51. 7 key stopped working properly. i just opned my phone after switching it off. there was a white pad having bubbles on it. if u raise that white pad, on its lower side u will see a circuit strip of yellowish colour. both the white and yellow strips are pasted to each other. just separate the both with something very thin from the side where ur problematic key is. on the reparable key u will find that some carbon has gathered. scratch that carbon very carfully so that the circuit metal is clean. after the cleaning process paste boht the strips together again just by pressing again eachother. now screw up ur phone again and u will see phone's keypad working again properly.

You might need to replace the board of the keyboard to solve the problem.
Is it still under warranty?

Corrosion I think is not covered by warranty. They consider it as accidental damage.
