You should generally go for bands rather than locations, I feel they are what make the evening's magic happen. Goodfellas who plays at Timbre Substation are great!

Timbre and Wala Wala are definitely the best places to chill out with your friends listening to good music!
I've yet to compare the prices of wala wala and timbre. i always thought timbre would be more exp cos it's near town?
but one thing i don't like about timbre is that if you come late. you gotta queue. It's worse than getting into a club ( Seriously, i've waited an hour plus for it before. )
Whereas Wala Wala is like a free for all place. you are allowed inside but you gotta find your own table and it's slightly squeezy. however it's air-condition. so it's a plus point!
I guess since it's air con, the sound is quite loud and quite high~ woot~

Timbre is good. I like Timbre @ Old School. Substation was good but it has since become too crowded and stuffy especially when the weather is hot...

China One is at Clarke Quay. They play rock and pop music, but English.

Definitely less crowded than Timbre @ Substation. But recently got more and more people started going so if you are arriving at around 8-9pm onwards, most probably need to queue. :s22:
Partimer : You can go check out their website for more details (http://www.chinaone.com.sg/).
