View Full Version : 8GB Toshiba TransMemory can't enable readyboost

Anyone encountered the problem where the 8GB Toshiba TransMemory can't enable readyboost? Windows kept saying it does not met the min. speed required to turn readyboost on.

Beside that, it did not detect the thumbdrive as TOSHIBA Transmemory USB device in the hardware device like my 1GB Toshiba thumbdrive, instead it is being detected as USB Flash Memory device.

Other than the readyboost thing, the thumbdrive works perfectly.

Did I just get myself a sub-standard thumbdrive?

Readyboost flash drive need to be in FAT32 file system and max 4gb allow.

You might need to partition the 8gb into 2 x 4gb and one of the partition as FAT32 file system.

i tried partitioning, doesn't work as well....

warrao, that means i got a problem thumbdrive. Can go exchange?

Can run a HD Tach or HD Tune benchmark? Like this.

Hmm... Does your computer recognise your thumbdrive as Toshiba Transmemory? Or just USB Flash Memory?

Mine doesn't show Toshiba TransMemory. I guess i can take it back and change. Every 25% interval, my transfer drop to almost 0.

2nd Test yield this result, with no drop in the transfer rate.

Poor quality product. Poor RMA service. That is my experience in my 4G Toshiba Thumbdrive.

Can forget buying Toshiba thumbdrive. Look for other brand.

i wonder if there is any performance increment using such slow flash memory.
