anyway, the answer to your first question lies in your own answer above where its obvious you wanted to meet elsewhere. the replies may seem "cold" to you but stating a clear and concise reply "no, its only $1.50 for mail, why go through the hassle? thanks" is pretty accurate to me. do bear in mind that when you have to reply to tons of emails daily, then you might understand the need for short and sharp replies. you did leave out the "thanks" too, unintentionally of course. you also left out his previous reply that "can self collect at tampines today by appt only. else its best by mail. its only $1.5". after receiving this longer reply, you still asked to meet elsewhere ;)

the funny thing about online purchases i have found is that many wish to save money on the things they buy. so they got a good price for it but can insist on spending much more on travelling up and down when the postage is only $1.5 ;)

yes, its your business how you wish to conduct business but since you sent a few emails and you know your intent is to meet up at your convenience when the other party is not keen to do so. then just move on. why be unhappy if the seller is not keen to sell to you on your terms? similarly if you are selling something and the other party does not wish to meet on your terms, then just let it go. no need to stir up anything right since you spent time corresponding and he spent time corresponding with you too. such things cannot force one, if both parties happy, then deal, if not, just move on :D
