PS3 internet connection

Whenever my PS3 is connected to the internet, my PC internet connection will go down and it would become very unstable. Once my PS3 is connected to the internet, whenever i tried to download updates or patches for my games, the download can't seems to complete and always stuck.

I retried a lot of times but still the same things happened. I'm using Starhub for my internet and linksys router for connecting wireless to my PS3 and PC.

Can any kind soul out there solve this irritating problem for me?

try using a LAN instead of wireless for ur ps3 first.

if the problem is solved, then it's ur ps3 wireless settings.

try google for ps3 wireless settings.

u need to open up certain ports and disable UPnP to make the wireless stable.

note that poor signal strength can cause ps3 to drop connection.

I tried using wired LAN for my PS3 too but it drops connection on my PC and PS3 too. My linksys router (WRT54GS) orange light will go off and on again after a few sec.

Not sure it's my problem with my router or my Starhub modem.

could be both then.

just try to flash ur router to a newer firmware. if ur WRT54GS ver supports 3rd party firmware, i'll suggess 'tomato'

WRT54GS rev 7 have a problem with PS3, I also have the same model .. linksys know about this problem but they aren't doing anything to fix this

you can try google for the fix, but in anut shell, you need to assign a fix IP to your PS3 and port forward some of the port from your router-PS3
