This letter serves to alert you that an increasing number of sports motorbikes have been reported stolen. You are advised to note the following to be on guard against falling victim to the perpetrators:

Modus Operandi

2. In the past week, two cases of theft were reported at the vicinity of Bukit Panjang Ring Road and Pasir Ris Close. Culprits would target big capacity sports bikes such as Suzuki GSX-series and Honda CBR/RVF. Every eight in 10 cases occurred at multi-storey carparks and open carparks located at public housing estates.

3. Generally, culprits would use approximately similar-sized keys to insert into the keyhole and start the engine through forced ignition. They would commonly strike either late at night or in the wee hours of the morning when human and vehicular traffics are low.

Description of Suspects

4. The suspects were spotted previously and they are described as follows:

Two males, believed to be of Malay origins;
One was spotted wearing a black helmet, donning a black shirt with blue shorts and seen carrying a blue haversack
The other was also carrying a black helmet, wearing a red T-shirt.

Crime Prevention Advisory

5. Bike owners are advised to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

Fit additional safety devices for your motorcycle;
Install an anti-theft alarm and ensure that it is always in good working order;
Remove the motorbike key whenever the vehicle is left unattended, even for a short while; and
