my PC wireless adapter WUSB54GS cannot detect my own wireless SSID. It can detect other SSIDs and even connect successfully. But my own SSID is not shown on the wireless network.
I tried to import my SSID file to connect manually but still can't connect.
using WRT54GS router

I had another computer and everything is working fine.

I had changed a working adapter already but problem persist & broadcast of my SSID on router shouldn't be a problem as I had another computer with successful wireless connection.

note - my problem pc can see other peoples SSIDs & connect to them successfully & use internet too. But my own SSID cannot be seen on the network.

wonder why?

I changed a new wireless channel from 11 to 8. Now the SSID can be detected on the problem pc but it still can't connect successfully - kept on trying to acquire network address then limited connectivity.

It might sound stupid, did you correctly key-in the correct password/passphrase?

I copied my working pc SSID profile and imported it to the problem pc and connect the profile. Finally the network adapter managed to get connected to the internet.

But this is a old problem. this problem PC alway lose internet connectivity every now and then.

thanks to all for the advices.

yes, the SSID is broadcast on the router page.

The problem is frustrating because I think that pc network connection will fail again after one week. I have to do everything all over again to get it working ( change the freq channel, import profile...)
