Can I use the same wireless router and only change the modem in case I have to switch from starhub to singtel and vice versa?

They don't but its a good idea. Just get a generic router of either brand or specs that you like. You can get cheapo modem for ADSL and free cable modem when you sign up for starhub.

shd be no prob. you can choose from the cheap G-versions (eg DLink DIR300 is only $49) or the newer N-versions (better for video/music streaming but NOT faster for internet).

for Starhub, the Hub Station even comes with a built-in cable modem and free 1Mbs Internet till Dec 2009.
