Hey guys,
would like to check if I'll be able to connect my network as following, and how can i get it to work?
I'm currently having my Modem and Buffalo router in the room.
My printer is shared in my network using a linksys printserver connected to the buffalo.
I would like to shift my printer to the living room.
I do have an extra linksys wireless router.
Is it possible that i set up the linksys router in the living room to link up with my buffalo, then connect the print server to the linksys, so that the printer in the living room can become a wireless printer?
If yes, how do i get the connection between the linksys and buffalo router?
Thanks! Hope someone can help =)

Why don't you simply replace the buffao with the linksys wireless router and connect the print server to the linksys?

Because his print server isn't wireless and is located away from the router. He is trying to use the linksys router in wireless client mode. Depending on the model and version, may be 3rd party firmware can do it.

yea.
hmm i know that WDS will allow the linksys to broadcast my wireless network.
but with that, will the lan port on the linksys work? if yes, then i can plug my print server in right?

WDS works only if it is mutual meaning..... both the buffao wireless and the linksys wireless have WDS
on some wireless AP / router after turning in the WDS
the router / AP does not accept clients any more meaning it is not a AP any more
it only accept client through the wire port or UTP

OIC, thanks for the insight, overlooked the print server is not the wireless version.:o
You are right, the default firmware on most of the WRT54g doesn't allow the AP to use as client mode.
