Recently change my broadband from 3mbps to 8mbps.. They gave me a new wireless modem, 2701HGV-E which is giving me problems..
Once i start downloading with BT, i can't surf net.
Even when i stop all the downloads, still unable to surf.. i need to restart the modem which takes a long time.. Help T_T..
My previous modem didn't give me any problem but its nt ADSL2 so must change..

wad u mean man?
currently have some thoughts in mind.. maybe buying a Wireless N router with QoS den
disable the wireless on my 2701HGV-E.. Let it act as a modem only..
Do you think like this will solve the problem? On and off the modem really takes damn long leh..
Esp for this modem.. Longer than my previous..

For one, stop all the adventurous tweaks in your Bittorrent program and live with a little slower downloads for a while.
Using the recommended settings (based on your upload speed) in Utorrent is a good way to get started.
STOP TWEAKING IF YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU"RE DOING.
SLOW SPEEDS ARE OKAY because it all DEPENDS ON TORRENT / SEEDS.

THe 2 wire modems have been known to have poorer abilities in managing many connections (typical in BT) so using that as a modem alone should help the problem (depending on what router you purchase).

QoS is NOT THE CURE for INCORRECT CONFIGURATIONS. Focus on getting your BT configuration right before looking at QoS.

i also got the 2wire 2701HGV-E...thought it will be damn bad cos i read alot of negative feedback here...but luckily it's working fine for me...torrent speed is fast...like 200++kb/s and surfing is fine too....
