What's up with arsenal fans boo-ing him? The commentator felt really sorry for Eboue and was critical of the gunner fans.

BBC:

1649: Ooh, drama at the Emirates. Emmanuel Eboue - a first-half sub for Samir Nasri - has been barracked by the home fans and is now taken off. He looks pretty distressed as he comes off, with Emmanuel Adebayor putting a consoling arm around him. Eboue stalks off down the tunnel in a right royal huff.

To get boo-ed by your own fans and then to get taken off by your manger after coming on as a sub is truly a bad day in the office. What did he do to deserve this?

he made 3 silly passes in last 10 minutes, 2 of which led to dangerous counter attack by wigan.
worse, the passes were under no pressure, and the final one was he actually "block" a run by toure. Toure broke out of defence and actually asked eboue to run up to the corner to receive the ball. yet eboue came towards him and "tackle" him off the ball, then passed to a Wigan player...

well, the crowd booing is terrible AND unacceptable. but i can also understand why they did tat, as it could cause Arsenal 3 points.

it is a shame for eboue to get boos...
but the blame lies soley on Wenger this time round.
this match, if Arsenal drop points, the fault lies not with the player(s), but Wenger.

eboue clearly lacked focus and stamina in the last 15 or 10 minutes - surely it is time to send on ramsey/wilshere/bendtner for a player who had gone empty? why was eboue left on the field to suffer and thus making those 3 mistakes, of which 2 could be SO SO costly? after making the 1st mistake already, Wenger surely should have sub him out for eboue is clearly running on empty tank.

Wenger MUST be the one to bring him off - for the player himself and the team. unfortunately, he did not and eboue made those very bad mistakes that those fans cannot stand.

The crowd basically vented 3 years of frustration on a poor RB made to play LW.

I'm referring to him a 'poor boy' kind of poor. Not that he is a lousy RB. I rate him as a decent backup RB.

he did score against bolton when he played left wing .. if i remember correctly
being played out of position is no excuse really ... because from the match he cannot even do basic stuff like short passing properly

Still, for a player out for 2 months and thrown into into the deep end just 30 mins into the game - he gets my sympathy. But make no mistake, his errors were horrible and totally unacceptable for a game view point.

I actually blame Wenger more. His tactical weakness is exposed again. Why play Eboue when you have Ramsey, Wilshere and Vela available. They are young and have had 3 days of rest. Once again, he basically looks into the bench and picks the most lao jiao midfielder he has.

well, i agreed that it is no excuse for his poor passes.
but Wenger is to be held responsible this time round. eboue just came back, and while did not do anything good nor bad when he came on, but like i said, he was lacking focus & stamina OBVIOUSLY in the last 10 minutes. yet Wenger did not take him off earlier. why did Wenger not put Ramsey or Bendtner on in place of an error-prone player? after his 1st mistake off the touchline, fine, move on. 2nd mistake - yet still no action?!! so, left him on to make the 3rd mistake????

furthermore, the team need a 2nd goal. Ramsey, Wilshere or Bendtner would offer something different.

yeah man .. wenger really made some bad tactical and team selection decisions this season ... very unlike his character .... jeez when can we actually see more of wilshere, ramsey and vela and less of the likes of eboue, denilson and bendtner.

He has playing badly out of position for a long time. Wenger fails to see that, and taking him out after being tortured so badly, was not a nice thing to do. Its like agreeing with the fans and it does his confidence no good.

I remember back in the old days, he and cole were awesome wing-backs for arsenal in their 49 game unbeaten run (which of course was brought to an end by Man Utd :D)

preciously.. eboue clearly was suffering and as the manager, he should sub him off earlier...
well, even silvestre on for eboue was not a good idea as silvestre made 2 forced errors too! ramsey or wilshere would definitely had been more comfortable on that flank...

typical Wenger. trying to convert his players according to his take on their skill.

successful on Henry n Toure but fails miserably on Eboue

Wenger should return him to either the right back or right midfield position. He should just come out with some $$ to buy good defensive mifielder like mascherano

i watched another match fulham v man city and i'm shocked to see such poor performance from fulham RB pantsil, who couldn't dribble or pass properly in that game for the whole 90 minutes....
but even so, the home fans never booed him...
