How to boost my 2wire 2700HGV-2 signals?

Hi, i'm currently using the 2wire 2700HGV-2 modem that is given when i subscribe SN Mio plan (with Mio voice). When i use my lappy in my bedroom, the signal is weak and gets disconnected frequently. Like to use 802.11N since my lappy can support. What are the alternative available to boost the signals?

1) Get a router? Dlink 655 to use with my 2wire?
2) Or is there a modem / router (all in one)?

try go to 192.168.1.254/mdc, password is 2wire if any.

go to wireless, under power setting, set to the max.

than try again to c if your signal improve.
